I'm not from the USA so please enlighten me..
What is the difference between a Democrat & Republican?
Can you look at a group of people and know for certain which party they
support? Are there any other politcal parties that people belong to?
Couldn't you be a republican and hate democrats but really like the
democrats that you work with or have other dealings with? Are all your
friends from the same political party as you?
Are you supposed to hate your brother or sister who belongs to a different
politcal party? Do you hate your mother if she voted for Gore and you
voted
for Bush? Does this mean she's a stupid liberal nut on welfare who stays
at
home smoking pot all day? Shouldn't she go out and get a job? Or maybe
move
to Cuba? How did your mother turn out to be such a hippie in the first
place?
Do NFL teams have both democrats and republicans on their rosters? If so,
do
they seceretly hate each other? Are the most successful teams that win
super
bowls made up of pure republicans?
If you guys all really hate each other so much then shouldn't you have
another civil war. If you did, who would win?
Hate is too strong a word. Dems and Reps tend to hate each others political
views, but not each other in an in-your-face personal way. If that were the
case, Dems and Reps would be physically whoopin ***** on each other routinely.
You generally don't see that. Many of them actually have lunch together on
occasion.
The political spectrum is linear. People tend to be drawn towards the left
or right. So a predominantly two-party system in opposition seems natural.
Kind of a hot/cold, up/down, light/dark dialectic type thing.
There is indeed hate of what each considers to be wrong politics. There's
nothing wrong with that. Intense debate on politics makes for better
politics in a Democracy.
Is there a better way to do it? What is your government's system?
