what is 'the freedom initiative'?.... |
http://www.interventionmag.com/cms/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=930&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0
"As with most of the legislation proposed by the current White House, the
New Freedom Initiative looks and sounds good on the outside, but tucked
away into the recesses and convolutions of legislative language is a
proposal to screen every American, including you, for mental illness. This
screening is not elective, and it circumvents the long-cherished notion of
parental consent before a medical or psychological test can be carried
out: of course, it starts with school children.
A commission was drafted by the President from the ranks of Big
Pharmaceutical to study mental illness in the nation’s people in 2001. Not
surprisingly, the commission reported that "despite their prevalence,
mental disorders often go undiagnosed." They then recommended
comprehensive mental health screening for "consumers of all ages,"
including preschool children, stating the emotional disorders of childhood
are often undiagnosed and untreated.
The commission concluded that schools are in "key positions" to screen the
52 million students and six million adults who work at the schools. By
doing this, the commission expects to flush out at least six million
people not now receiving treatment....."

"The president's commission found that "despite their prevalence, mental
disorders often go undiagnosed" and recommended comprehensive mental
health screening for "consumers of all ages," including preschool
children. According to the commission, "Each year, young children are
expelled from preschools and childcare facilities for severely disruptive
behaviours and emotional disorders." Schools, wrote the commission, are in
a "key position" to screen the 52 million students and 6 million adults
who work at the schools.
The commission also recommended "Linkage [of screening] with treatment and
supports" including "state-of-the-art treatments" using "specific
medications for specific conditions." The commission commended the Texas
Medication Algorithm Project (TMAP) as a "model" medication treatment plan
that "illustrates an evidence-based practice that results in better
consumer outcomes." "

"Eli Lilly, manufacturer of olanzapine, has multiple ties to the Bush
administration. George Bush Sr. was a member of Lilly's board of directors
and Bush Jr. appointed Lilly's chief executive officer, Sidney Taurel, to
a seat on the Homeland Security Council. Lilly made $1.6m in political
contributions in 2000 - 82 percent of which went to Bush and the
Republican Party."

So is this a new drug company ploy to increase the use of/sell more
Ritalin or is it a first step in a new govt eugenics programme?

you will be aware the socialist russia widely used a 'medical' model
to suppress dissent....
it looks as if it may be more of 'who owns the child' to me....
you will also know that our home grown socialists have already tried to
get powers to lock people up *in case* the commit crimes....
a new society is developing underfoot.....
it is very difficult to see the end point....
imv a central issue will be a transparent society and multiple personas.
to expect a socialist government to understand, welcome or control
these developments is daft.....
i think the changes are, and will, take on a like of their own....

Indeed. I've been saying for ages that the US is.......
The choices were communist totalitarianism or capitalist
totalitarianism. The former has essentially collapsed, leaving
the latter as the only remaining option.
But a new threat is brewing out there...Iran/Russia/China vs US/UK.
Which way the EU will jump is not clear.
it looks as if it may be more of 'who owns the child' to me....
It may become that in when the battle lines are drawn and some
caring mother says "I don't want my child to be fed full of Ritlin
just because his/her teacher says he's difficult...".
Suddenly a dissident is anybody who refuses to take the medication.
you will also know that our home grown socialists have already tried to
get powers to lock people up *in case* the commit crimes....
That's already happening in a small way w/r/t Belmarsh.
So far, it's only foreigners. I'm sure that will change to
'remove our fear' and 'make life safer'.
a new society is developing underfoot.....
it is very difficult to see the end point....
Subservience or violent civil war. Can't see any other options.
imv a central issue will be a transparent society and multiple personas.

these developments is daft.....

Helping that along is surely the intent.

When it comes to liberty in Britain, there are two groups of people:
1,Those who believe that when govt pass new laws, they must be necessary.
2,Those who enjoy watching the freedoms and liberties of others removed.
