What kind of democracy do we have ?
With all the world moving to the middle east to impose a democracy,
without defining it, let us appreciate that our own 'political system
in Canada', in a majority government situation, empowers a non-elected

ersatz, fabricated, factitious, feigned, fishy, forged, frame, gyp,
hollow, imitation, made-up, make-believe, manufactured, meretricious,
mock, ostensible, phony, pretended, pseudo, queer, seeming, shady,
sham, simulated, snide, so-called, spurious, substitute, synthetic,
unreal, wrong.
On the other hand here is a listing of dictionary terms for 'true':

With no run off elections to ensure the winner of elections receives
more than 50% of the vote, and with the person who gets most all of the
power in a majority government not on the local ballots, let me leave
you with the challenge. Or as in the USA where the winners does not
necessarily get the majority of the vote...but all the power ?
Now tell me, what would be the more appropriate adjective for our
'parliamentary democracy' , remember the devil is in the details,
especially the missing details.?
