In many ways activists have several "key issues" in common as we all
want a government that is fair honest and just! I used to manage a law
office and I am personally outraged at how little the press and the
citizen is aware of the extent that immunities have been granted public
servants and the resulting abuses.
Please take a look at this concept. Feel free to steal the idea, modify
it, or whatever.
Readers are being encouraged to write Open Letters to public servants,
especially elected legislators, and making a simple inquiry about
immunities while requesting a public opinion on the issue.
Each request to federal legislators encourages that legislator to also
seek out the public opinion of President George Bush on the issues of
immunities.
Immunities is the issue! Ask the "elected" for a public opinion. Find a
way to make the elected and the public servant "publicly" acknowledge
the existence of these immunities!
If they did not know about these immunities then it could be
embarrassing because of not knowing! If they do know about these
immunities then why not be asked for a public opinion about it! Also,
and perhaps most important, it is very easy to confirm the accuracy of
the information provided.
The plan is to write the elected such a letter, then send a copy to the
press, and also make multiple copies to distribute throughout the
community. As far as I can tell this is getting the anticipated results.
In the case of submitting these inquiries with federal legislators it is
also added to ask that public official to inquire with President Bush on
his public opinion of this issue. Perhaps state legislators should be
asked for the Governor's public opinion?
The whole idea is to find a way to make the general public aware of
these immunities for the cost of a postage stamp.
