What should be the destiny of Saddam? |
Saddam alive will always be a threat for the Iraqis. Most of them are
terrorized by this man. As long as he is alive, his supporters will
made attacks, will kill other people in order to free them. Saddam
alive means hundreds or even thousands of deads. Moreover, he will
continue to make statements to the press, islamic masses will continue
to accuse Americans for his "illegal" imprisonment, leftist movements
will try to free him.
There is an historical unwritten law, which asks defeated tyrants are
executed. This is made to eliminate forever the possibility they take
again the power and to stop that their supporter try again a coup
d'état. The execution of a tyrant means the definitive end of his
regime and the beginning of a new historical period.
American and Iraqi authorities have this choice: on a pan they have
the life of Saddam, on the other pan they have hundreds of deads. Does
Saddam the butcher deserve the life of so much people???
I think NO!

We want a free and open trial also. I want the world to know what France,
Germany and Russia were getting for their protectin of Saddam.
I doubt he will have a fair trial in the Hagues!
He would probably stand a better chance of living in the Hague than he will
in Iraq, if the trail goes on there.

Hey, I want a "free" trial too... "Free" in the sense that not a single
dime of American money is spent on the trial. And it better be held in
Iraq also, not the Hague and DEFINITELY not anywhere near where the French
have any influence on it...
