WHAT TO SAY WHEN AN AMNESTY SUPPORTER SAYS, "NAFTA FORCED MEXICANS TO
FLEE MEXICO"
A very common argument these days is that NAFTA created economic
hardship for Mexicans which then forced them to come to the USA.
WHAT TO SAY TO THE AMNESTY SUPPORTER...
Mexicans should return to Mexico and protest their government in
Mexico City - when Mexicans come here, they are taking the easy way
out (not to mention breaking the law). Remind them that NAFTA was
enthusiastically signed by Mexico!!!!!! Thus, Mexicans should join
the protesters already in Oaxaca and Chiapas and march on Mexico
City!!!! Again remind them by coming to the USA they are simply
taking the easy way out and, worse, they are hurting American workers
by taking our jobs and depressing our wages in numerous U.S.
industries like contstruction and meat packing (not to mention sucking
up billions in social services).
Don't forget that NAFTA greatly hurt U.S. factory workers since
hundreds of U.S. factories moved to Mexico after NAFTA was signed in
1994. Mexicans then took those jobs (in Mexico, of course). A win
for Mexico, a loss for Americans. Many of the Americans who lost
their jobs took their complaints to Washington D.C. Likewise,
Mexicans who were negatively affected by NAFTA (farmers mostly) should
take their protests to Mexico City & not come here illegaly and hurt
American workers.
In summary, when illegals and their supporters blame NAFTA, they
should be mad at Mexico since Mexico signed NAFTA!!! Thus they should
take their complaints to Mexico City and stop taking the easy way out
by coming here and taking our jobs.
