What will YOU do...when the dollar crashes and burns? |
The dollar is hitting all time lows, gold crossed the $700.00/oz mark,
oil is heading for $200.00/bbl, we are in hoc...over our heads, we are
letting our health care system, public education, border security,
infrastructure, high paying job base go to hell, while our inmate
population is going through the roof with no end in sight, and we are
positioning ourselves to guarantee the possible GDP per capita in our
nation's history. We are doing this at a time when we can least
afford it; with an aging population, declining birth rate, and growing
unskilled workforce.
So what are you going to do when ***** finally hits the fan?

$450 billion in fiscal 2006. Its auditor found that its financial statements
were unreliable and that its controls were inadequate for the 10th straight
year. On top of that, the entity's total liabilities and unfunded

years.
If this announcement related to a private company, the news would have been
on the front page of major newspapers. Unfortunately, such was not the
case -- even though the entity is the U.S. government.
To put the figures in perspective, $50 trillion is $440,000 per American
household and is more than nine times as much as the median household
income.
The Government Accountability Office is working with the Concord Coalition,
the Brookings Institution, the Heritage Foundation and others to help
educate the public about the facts in a professional, nonpartisan way.

And go back to planting a garden and the simple life
Sorta looking forward to it actually. I am sick of all the
materialism and debt and money grubbing *****

You positioned yourself wisely. It wouldn't hurt to add a litrtle
gold to your portfolio. The dollar slid to record lows immediately
after Bernake cut the discount and fed funds rates by 50 basis
points. Hence gold and oil moved up and the U$D is being dumped by
the truckloads. Folks, we are heading for a disaster with no way
out.
BTW, watch your money like a hawk!! The storm is coming

Ain't it amazing how our "clairvoyeunts" are "predicting" the crash of
the dollar while the ostriches stick their heads in the sand. Meanwhile,
in the last 3-4 years the dollar has lost 1/2 it's value as measnured
agains the Euro. Some "prediction", eh?

Gold has been well over $700/oz before,
The gloom and doom picture you paint has been on the wall for a long
time
It hasn't happened yet.
There was a best selling book in the early 90's called Bankruptcy 1995
about how the US economy would be bankrupt by then, look what happened
to
the economy in the 90's.
The recent subprime issue will eventually correct itself. it was a bad
idea (making loans to people who cant pay them back)
The really sad thing is that you and people like you actually seem to
be looking forward to the gloom and doom scenario.

I really dont claim to know that it will, altho the numbers you cite,
and those given by Comptroller of the USA David M. Walker, are
certainly worrisome. I've seen Walker present his case to CPAs, he's
been doing it a while now, but I dont see that he's getting anywhere.
I know that nothing I say here, or anywhere else, or anything you can
as well, will have any effect.
But I've already expanded my garden to the point that it will produce
enuf food to meet my needs. I've also "invested" in extra cans of
gasoline and coffee. I live in a trailer on the edge of the woods at
the very end of the grid in the Ozarks. Yes, I have firearms and ammo,
and soon as it cools off, expect to start dressing out the venison
that's been hitting on my garden on the tailgate of my pickup with a
garden hose and a sawzall.

acted on until the mind is concentrated by economic crisis and the
prospect of starvation. 99% of the food is grown by 1% of the
population, but it is the 99% who select the leadership and set the
farm policy. Hello?
Hillary made 100 grand over nite in the commodities market, not
because she knew anything about agriculture, but because she knew who
to know. But unlike the greedy bastards, did not use it to build a
lavish lifestyle, but to fund a political career. Hillary dont need
mistresses. If the system hangs together long enuf for her to take
over, that kind of smarts may be able to turn things around.
