What's right for Republicans is wrong for our country |

Cover-ups exist in Bush White House
By Mike Myhre
In general, members of the GOP seem to stick up for each other even
when they know it is wrong for the country.
When the identity of Deep Throat was revealed, this became very
obvious.
Pat Buchanan and many of the Watergate criminals gave their speeches
on ethics and how Deep Throat was not a hero.
"He should have gone to his superiors," and "Where was his loyalty?"
they said, even though all the superiors were found guilty.
If he would have done as they suggest, he would have been covered up
and they would have gotten away with the crimes.
We have a similar situation with the current administration, but there
is no Deep Throat to stand up and do what is right.
John Bolton was in place to get rid of anyone questioning the weapons
of mass destruction assertions as many as five levels down.
No one can tell this administration they are wrong; if anyone does,
they will be labeled unpatriotic or a lunatic and the media will be
flooded with stories to the contrary.
Even though the administration's stories are usually proven false
later, many people don't hear the corrections.
Now the administration is trying for a second time to pass funding for
a new type of nuclear weapon and Bolton (a big supporter of the new
nukes) has been nominated to be the ambassador to the U.N.
Many Republican leaders are fighting to pass this legislation and
nomination.
Why is this being kept so quiet in the mainstream media and instead we
hear the threat of a filibuster by the Democrats?
I don't think many Americans would stand for another nuclear arms race
or to pre-emptively attack another nation with a nuclear weapon of any
kind.
