I was very uncomfortable with the security at the Superdome too, which
turned out to be wise beyond my wildest imagination.
As to home defense, I prefer a brush-hook anyway.

Yes: Might makes Right. Also, when they come to deprive you of your
rights, you're supposed to be willing to kill or die for the cause.
That whole "cold dead fingers" thing isn't just a bumper sticker. If
you aren't willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to defend the rights
for all, then you don't really have, or even deserve, those rights for
yourself.
Sorry if that's harsh, but the value of "rights" is based on them being
defended at life and death consequences.

Perfect sense.
They might shoot back at the people hired to kill them.
Blackwell mercs, if I remember the name right.
They might shoot the people hired to destroy the 30,000 bodies, so George
can have a body-count less than the 9/11 WTC fiasco.
That'd be a "funeral" company owned by a friend of Daddy WarBush - a funeral
company known to have desecrated and hidden bodies in the past.
They might shoot Bush or Condie or Donkey-***** during one of the phony
photo-ops used to boost public opinion.
That'd be... well.... unfortunate I guess...
When you're trying to take over a nation, its always best to insure your
victims are unarmed. Its just a lot easier and less expensive that way.
Yup - conservatives are so stupid to think the republican party cares
about their gun rights. Both parties want a dictatorship.

Sadly you are right. At some point it would probably not be surprising if GW
issued some kind of mandate that due to X tragedy (like if someone took a
shot at Condie while she was at the Broadway revue of CATS or at the
Ludakris Concert) the National Guard was going to be going home-to-home
picking up all Federally registered weapons. Considering how the Republicans
have basically used the Bill of Rights as their personal wipe-cloth with
little objection from anyone, anything is possible.
Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, etc., must be turning in their graves. I
wonder if they can see what America has become?

I'll accept the second sentence as true - there's never been an ideal
country. However the first sentence is ludicrous - prove it! And not
in today's context but in 18th Century America. The three dead white
men were among the greats of their time. Your ignorance shows when you
equate Bush with Jefferson - only one of them possessed a brain - the
verb tense should give you a hint.

Hardly a left winger. The nutcase above routinely posts racist and
anti-semitic rants; sounds like your basic conservative to me, albeit
one who, to his credit, doesn't like Bush. Like they say, even a
