As more and more government scientists came to the conclusion that
global warming was fact and that humans played a part, the White House
edited their findings. An ex-employee of the API and soon to be
employee of Exxon-Mobil, Phillip Cooney, played editor. His reaction
to the scientists' findings was to call their conclusions fuzzy
science or to insert qualifiers (his own) into the many reports he
edited. Previously the ex-czar of the EPA - Whitman - pulled any
reference to global warming from the agency's findings and reports.
Seems to me that there is not 'your' science and 'my' science, there's
just science. Scientists findings should not be edited or qualified by
some policy wonk, but reviewed and/or critiqued by their peers.
