Commentary and Opinion by Rev. Bill McGinnis
This is what's going to happen regarding abortion law in the United
States. Get ready, because these things are going to happen. And in a
few years, after all the dust has settled, you can remember that you
read it here first.
1. ROE v. WADE WILL BE OVERTURNED.
The legal reasoning behind Woe v. Wade and its predecessor,Griswold v.
Connecticut is weak and flimsy, unworthy of the United States Supreme
Court. As I have shown elsewhere, if abortion is a legal right, as Roe
v. Wade asserts, then prostitution, drug use, and possession of child
pornography must also be legal rights, following the logic of Roe v.
Wade.
Carried to its logical conclusion, Roe v. Wade would prevent the
Federal and state governments from regulating most kinds of personal
behavior, because in each case, the newly-discovered privacy and
liberty rights would outweigh the long-established inherent rights of
Government to define and punish criminal behavior, which Roe v. Wade
basically ignores.
Perhaps the extreme Libertarians would think that this is a good idea -
unrestricted personal behavior. If so, it will be interesting to see
how they join together with the pro-abortion leftists to defend Roe v.
Wade.
Please see Roe v. Wade at http://laws.findlaw.com/us/410/113.html ;
Griswold v. Connecticut at http://laws.findlaw.com/us/381/479.html ;
and

http://www.essaysandcommentaries.com/abortion-prostitutiondrugs.html
2. EACH STATE WILL THEN WRITE ITS OWN ABORTION LAWS, AS IT CHOOSES TO
DO
Some states will permit abortions; some will not. Restrictions will
vary according to the decisions of each state, acting through its
legislature.
The Public will insist that some exceptions be made for the life and
health of the mother, and the various state legislatures will provide
these exceptions.
The barbaric, murderous procedure of "Partial Birth Abortion" will
surely be banned everywhere. (This is the sickening procedure by which
the "physician" murders the fully-developed baby as it is being born,
by stabbing it in the head with scissors. It is never medically
necessary unless the doctors on the case have been grossly negligent
beforehand.)
Women who live in abortion-forbidden states will be able to travel to
abortion-legal states. The various pro-abortion groups will be free to
help them financially, if needed.

It would do you pro-birth wackos some good to read the Roe v. Wade decision,
something that you obviously have not done.
Roe v. Wade had little to do with choice, nothing to do with "morality," and
everything to do with public health and safety. At the time of Roe v. Wade,
women were having abortions -- some were done by physicians, secretly, most
were done by amateur abortionists with resulting infections, death, and
permanent damage to the woman. The AMA came down squarely on the side of
legal abortions -- they did not want doctors going to jail for something
everyone was doing anyway, and, they wanted to protect public health.
It's about time someone made that argument so we can get away from the
useless distractions inserted by the holyrollers and biblethumpers.

And you actually think THAT doesn't involve morals???

There's no way that the Republicans will allow the citizens of each state to
make their own laws. They will intervene and ban women's right to choose
everywhere. They have no problem ignoring & overruling state's rights when
it comes to enacting their own social agenda! Imagine THAT!

A novel idea? To bypass the U.S. Constitution in favor of state's rights?
Been there, done that .......... and even had a war about it!

Since republicans have failed in many attenpt to drastically change the
federal government - they HAVE gone to the states with this very same
argument - let the states decide.
Of course, this ignores the hypocrisy of asserting that the federal
government has the right to outlaw Marijuana use - without ONE SHRED of
evidence supporting their argument - when the state (California) has laws on
the book for medicial Marijuana use.
Republican want states rights - or federal rights, whenever it serves thier
right wing political agenda.
Talk about FLIP-FlOPPING!!!!
Prayer in schools, and teaching creationism, are two other areas where the
republicans have lost in the federal government, and are now bellowing about
letting the states make that decision.

They've failed because of Supreme Court decisions. Namely to uphold Roe vs.

Very simple. More young girls will die.

But fewer young babies will die, so it's still a net positive.

Your "Conservative" support of interventionist, meddling, nanny government
has been duly noted.

BTW, I also support an "interventionist, meddling, nanny government"
outlawing rape, murder of the elderly and middle aged, and the
indiscriminate lynching of negroes. If that troubles you, that's just too
damn bad, pal.

Is that what they're telling you in church?? Whomever is
telling you that is either ignorant or insane. Mothers and
babies will die and you will be ruining young women's lives
and bringing babies into the world that no-one wants.

Funny how neo-cons rail against "judicial activism." In other words,
all they want is their own form of judicial activism - to break down
civil and individual liberties and blur the line even more between
church and state.

Maybe, if the church was actually prepared to love and care for all the
babies that would be born... then abortion could dissappear. As it stands,
you'll just have more unwanted kids on the street robbing and killing and
prostituting...

Your letting your religious prejudice interfere with logic and human
reality.
I happened to have lived when abortion was illegal.
It resulted in doctors going to jail for trying to help a women. It caused
women to be injured and killed
by back alley amateur abortionists. It caused the wealthy to go overseas for
their abortions but denied relief to the poor.
Making abortion illegal is similar to making alcohol illegal. It does not
eliminate the practice. It merely
pushes it into the unhealthy and dangerous criminal world.
Abortion should be the "women's" choice. If it would violate her religious
beliefs she can carry the fetus to term, otherwise she can have it aborted.
There is nothing to be gained by trying to force children on them they do
not want. This merely creates
years of difficulties for both the woman and the child.
This should be the woman's decision - not some politicians.

When Roe v. Wade Is Overturned, What Will Happen Then?

Each State Will Write Its Own Abortion Laws; Some Will Allow Abortion,
Some Will Not. Restrictions Will Vary.

Wade.

Please see Roe v. Wade at http://laws.findlaw.com/us/410/113.html ;
Griswold v. Connecticut at http://laws.findlaw.com/us/381/479.html ;
and
my earlier comments at
http://www.essaysandcommentaries.com/abortion-prostitutiondrugs.html

###

Blessings to you. May you thrive and prosper in all things.

It would do you pro-birth wackos some good to read the Roe v. Wade
decision,
something that you obviously have not done.

That's called an assumption... When you "assume" you make an ***** out
of u and, well you.

Roe v. Wade had little to do with choice, nothing to do with "morality,"
and
everything to do with public health and safety. At the time of Roe v.
Wade,
women were having abortions -- some were done by physicians, secretly,
most
were done by amateur abortionists with resulting infections, death, and
permanent damage to the woman.

Who fucking cares! I find it a little hard to be sympathetic towards
someone who kills their own child. I think it is sweet irony and
justice that someone goes to the abortion doctor, murders her baby and
ends up dying afterward.

The AMA came down squarely on the side of
legal abortions --

Of course they did, they can make more money if the volume is up.

they did not want doctors going to jail for something
everyone was doing anyway,

If "everyone" jumped off a bridge would you. If yes then everyone did
jump off a bridge, so for the sake of humanity please go jump off a
bridge.

and, they wanted to protect public health.

If they wanted to protect public health then they would hand out
condoms, with instructions, because obviously these women did not know
how to use a condom hence they are knocked up. This means that they
are also prone to STDs, If you want to protect public health on that
end of the spectrum, abortion isn't it, rubbers are.

It's about time someone made that argument so we can get away from the
useless distractions inserted by the holyrollers and biblethumpers.

They were injured ONLY when they hired some guy to kill a live human baby.
BTW, *why* did those foolish and immoral women make such an obviously vulgar
and immoral choice? Namely, to kill an innocent live human being. Was it
stupidity on their part, or merely selfishness?

LOL, like the current Congress will not intervene in State affairs like it
did with Terri Schiavo? Or the 2000 election? The Republicans will be
heavily pressured to pass a national ban on abortion if Roe vs.. Wade is
overturned. There's no way that won't step in to "Preserve Life" and
protect all of those "Unborn Babies"! In fact, I'd say this would be a
political nightmare for Republicans and the best thing politically to happen
to the Democrats in decades!

Nothing - as a practical matter. It will be impossible to get
enough Blue Nation congresscritters - in both the House and Senate - to
vote to outlaw abortion federally. As such, abortion will - at most -
be banned in some Red Nation states, just like it was the day before
Roe vs. Wade. And - just like then - a brisk business in "abortion
tourism" to states like New York, in which abortion was legal before
Roe vs. Wade, will continue legal abortion.
