Object: WHY!? Colbert: Virginia's 11'th district
Did you see the "Better Know A District" where Colbert questioned
the politicician from District 11?
Laugh. Out. Loud!
Question: WHY DO THEY DO IT?! Why do these politicians agree to be
on Stephen Colbert's show? This here politician was jittering and
frowning and shifting his eyes wondering why his aids got him in to
this mess, wondering if he would be committing political suicide by
jumping up, slugging Stephen in his face, stomping Stephen's bloody
remains into the carpet, and walking away.
Instead the politician sat there, vows of fireing or murdering the
aid that convinced him that showing up on the Colbert Report would
be a good, beneficial political move -- the "Colbert Bump" in overall
approval ratings that politicals invariably get when they appear on
the show.
Colbert fucked that rightard hard in the ***** on cable television and
straight-faced the stupid rightard to death -- while making an ***** of
himself in the guise of being another Republican extremist and
insulting the rightard on camera.
Had it not been for television, had it not been for the fact that a
camera was running, had it not been for the fact that there were some
witnesses present, Stephen would have been pounded, gutted, and cut up
in to flushable chunks by the politician after the first fatal insult.
Got to wonder why the rightards agree to appear on his show. Some of
the more rambunctious, feisty female politicians have done well and
have managed to come out winners, smacking Colbert's scripted and his
impromptu, extremly witty "interviews" aside so that they can use his
show as a platform -- rather than sit there like a sand-filled blow-up
plastic punching clown like this politician was.
In stark contrast, the Democratic politicians that agree to appear in
the "Better Know A District" interviews have always come out with humor
and wit themselves, bantering with Stephen and always coming up winners
-- or at minimum equals, dishing it back professionally with wit andhumor
just as Colbert does.
"Finish this sentence. 'I like smoking pot because...'"
That's some of the things that Colbert leads with in SUCCESSFUL attempts
to get politicians to say things they never would out in real life, out
in front of real news cameras. Instead of looking at Colbert and saying,
"What the ***** are you talking about? I don't smoke pot, you IDIOT!"
these politicians step in to the noose and proceed to explain how they
like smoking pot -- going along with the gag.
At the same time I notice that the rightarded attempt to come up with a
witty, humorfull, diametrically opposed version of comedy in the guise of
the "24 hour noise half hour" show has failed and suffered an Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome fate.
Colbert Report is funny. Daily Show is even more so -- not to mention
even more _relevant_ and newsworthy than any mainstream media news. But
I have to wonder why rightards fall for the Colbert Trap.

Because every politician knows in his gut that any publicity is good
publicity unless
( 1) it has him in bed with a dead girl, or
(2) it has him in bed with a live boy, or(3)
(3) it spells his name wrong.
AND, (4) his name is NOT on Palfrey's List
.
