The original terrorists in Iraq were the military and civilian
officials of the Bush administration -- starting with their "shock and
awe" bombing campaign that destroyed Iraqi infrastructure in order to
"undermine civilian morale."
The American form of terrorism continued with the wholesale destruction
of most of Falluja and parts of other Sunni cities, designed to
pacify the
"hot beds" of insurgency, while teaching the residents of those areas
that,
if they "harbor the insurgents," they will surely "suffer the
consequences."
At the individual level, this program of terror was continued through
the invasions of, and demolishing of, homes (or, in some cases, parts
of neighborhoods) where insurgents were believed to be hidden among a
larger civilian population, thus spreading the "lesson" about
"harboring terrorists" to everyone in the Sunni sections of the
country.
Thus, generating a violent death rate of at least 18,000 per year,
the American drumbeat of terror has contributed more than its share to
the recently escalating civilian death toll, which reached a record
3,149 in the official count during July. It is unfortunately accurate to
characterize the American occupation of Sunni Iraq as an evil reign of
Terror.

I see (and appreciate) you are using a different style to your
experiments in formatting.
Also this is one of your better articles (and subject lines).
While I realize that your nick-name is an important statement for you I
do not like it. Not because I am offended but I suspect many of the
people you are trying to reach are. However you have become a
recognized to me voice so I am not asking you to change it either.
(and for instance "demi-God" on alt.prisons had established himself
there as a voice of humanity long before I showed up. The argument I
present is that to a truly pious man a belief in Humanity and God are
almost (if not entirely) synonomous! ) I am Christian, Muslim, Jewish,
Budhist, Hindu, Existentialist, Humanist: of the highest
interpretation of any of these "sects." (though my understanding of
various texts is the widest for Christianity it also includes each the
others, "Being and Nothingness" being as close to the Existentialist
"Bible" that I know of.) I consider Gandhi to be the greatest
Christian of last century (even greater than Mother Teresa, and MBE
fits more into the century before last) ... and, due to the current
perversion of most of the message of Jesus Christ, Gandhi never deigned
to label himself Christian ... though he did state that the teachings
of Jesus were correct(ie by this then Gandhi is the epitome of true
Christian)
