why starve an animal? |
I do believe people have the right choose whether or not they'd want
to be kept artificially alive.
But I don't believe anyone would want to die SLOWLY by starving!
Can you imagine what it would be like to be aware that you've
suddenly stop receiving food and water and not being able to say or
do anything about it. If she's not aware of it, how can we be sure
she isn't.
From the short video we're seen on the news, this woman, Terry
Schiavo, is able to move her eyes, look around etc. While I can't say
if she's actually seeing anything, she is a human being and alive.
Put yourself in her shoes; unable to communicate in any way you begin
to feel hungry and very thirsty. The hunger pain takes hold and you
weaken to the point of not being able to move at all. You hope to die
quickly. But instead, it's a very long and slow painful journey where
you own body eats itself to stay alive. I can not imagine how
frightening this must be.
We don't put down cats and dogs this way, so why a human?
If man is an animal, where are the animal right activists?

Political correctness. A more humane option is not available (slippery slope
and all that).

In an ideal liberal Democrat world, Terri could be set out on a street
corner in a big city with a cup and a jug of IV food, and make a ton of
money for the party.
