The World Bank (WB) has decided to grant the amount of USD 200 million
to Venezuela in the form of four new loans during the next two years.
WB representative in Venezuela David Varela Monday said that the
projects for which the loans will be allotted are still under
preparation and have a complex design.
One of the loans is to be used for financing water pipes and sewage
systems in both urban and rural areas in at least eight Venezuelan
states which have been chosen by the national water company Hidroven
and its affiliates.
The World Bank will also finance a social infrastructure project in
small and medium-sized cities aimed at expanding the success achieved
in the so-called Proyecto Mejoramiento de Barrios.
The multilateral agency is also to grant funds for environmental
projects implemented by the Ministry of Environment. These projects
include the use of solid waste, sewage, national parks and forest
areas.
The last loan will be used for creating the requisite infrastructure
for implementing basic services in several indigenous communities,
according to official ABN news agency.
Varela explained that a WB mission recently paid a visit to Venezuela
in order to specify all the loans taking into account the country's
needs.

Wonder why he borrowing the money? He certainly had enough to give
free fuel oil to the American poor.
I don't suspect he will pay it back.

Gee, isn't a former Bush adviser president of the World Bank? Hey, ya
don't think this is just another Bush plan to bleed the American
taxpayer a little more?
I don't suspect he will pay it back.

I wouldn't want to ***** off a fella with illusions of grandeur who has
an army at his disposal, not to mention a bunch of *close* friends in
the banking business.
