WOULD U.S. INVADERS BE GREETED AS LIBERATING HEROES? NO!
I accurately predicted this disaster in Iraq, in January, 2003. Why was
the entire Bush Team oblivious to these obvious realities?

It is far more likely that they would be greeted as any invader would be
greeted in any country: as ENEMIES! Fierce house-to-house fighting, with
us as the evil foreign invader and them as the loyal defenders of their
homeland and their religion: Huge casualties on both sides: Is this what
we really want? If so, why?
It is delusional to think, as the Bush administration apparently thinks,
that the people of Irag are yearning for Democracy and Western values. Is
there any evidence whatsoever that this is what they want? NO! They simply
want to live their lives as good Muslims. Abortion, Pornography, Drugs,
Alcohol, Sexual Promiscuity, Adultery, Individualism, Secularism: these
things are all major sins to a Muslim, yet these are the most apparent
results of Western Democracy, as they view it.
And on a spiritual note, to a Muslim, the idea that Jesus Christ (or
anybody else) is "Son of God," is the GREATEST SIN OF ALL! The words,
"Allah (God) does not beget, nor is He begotten," are central to Islam.
To a large extent, Islam developed as an anti-Christian movement. And now
the people of Iraq are expected to embrace the Crusader President as their
political savior? I don't think so.
So what do they want from us? Nothing, except perhaps our money and
manufactured products. And, of course, for us to stop propping up their
arch-enemy, Israel, with whom they have been fighting for about four
thousand years. ("The Babylonian Captivity" in the Bible was that period
of time during which the people of Israel were held captive in Babylon,
which is now called Iraq.)
The very best we can hope for in a relationship with the Muslim world
is to have a grudging tolerance of each other's right to exist. "Peaceful
co-existence" is the correct concept, and the only one which we should
try to promote.
So please do whatever you can to expose the error in the idea that
invading American troops would be greeted as liberating heroes in
a war with Iraq.
Thanks,
