You think that 200 million is a lot of money, ignoring that CBS, one of the competitors of NPR, has an annual income of $14 billion per year and profits of $5 billion per year, whereas NPR is a non-profit organization (that needs contributions in order to make any enhancements to their programming in order to remain competitive)
...You think of NPR and PBS as a "counter to Rush Limbaugh" and assume that means that they are
using public funds to push a particular point of view rather than using almost entirely private funds to provide programming that promotes
a variety of thoughtful views, in contrast to the extremist-funded singular thoughtless views of a drug addict entertainer.
