Object: Governor Groping Austrian Beefcake strikes again
Governor Groping Austrian Beefcake was back in the news last week when
he tried to shut down the production of a line of bobblehead dolls
created in his likeness.
A company called Ohio Discount Merchandise, run by Todd and Toby
Bosley, created the dolls (featuring Schwarzenegger wearing a suit and
toting a machine gun) - and give the majority of their profits to a
cancer research charity.
Sorry guys - those cancer patients are just going to have to shut up
and suffer, because Arnold wants bank.
According to CNN, "The governor's law firm, Lavely & Singer, sent
Bosley a letter demanding he immediately stop making and selling the
dolls, deliver any remaining dolls to their offices and make a
substantial payment to Schwarzenegger."
How nice.
He might even be able to afford another new Hummer with all the money
that could have gone to charity.

And he's in the news this week as well:
Schwarzenegger pays tribute to holocaust victims
4.31PM, Mon May 3 2004
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has paid tribute to the
millions of Jews who perished during the holocaust.
On a trip to Israel, Schwarzenegger denounced racism as he laid a
cornerstone for Jerusalem's Museum of Tolerance.
The former film star, whose father was a member of the Nazi party, said
that his native Austria's past had spurred him to campaign against
anti-Semitism.
"I was born in Austria, a country that is beautiful, and I love it, and
a place where intolerance and ignorance led to atrocities and
heartache," Schwarzenegger said.
"Because of that I want to do whatever I can to promote tolerance around
the world."

Schwarzenegger in Jordan following criticism from Arab-Americans
- (Published May 3, 2004)
AMMAN, Jordan - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger paid a hastily
arranged visit to King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday following
criticism from Arab-Americans that the governor's Mideast trip ignored
Palestinians.
Schwarzenegger flew in from neighboring Jerusalem, where he paid tribute
Sunday to the millions of Jews killed in the Holocaust and helped
dedicate a planned museum of tolerance during a whirlwind visit to Israel.
In Jordan, Schwarzenegger met Abdullah at Beit al-Barakeh, or House of
Blessing - the king's private residence in Amman's suburbs. Political
discussions during a royal banquet were expected to focus on Mideast
peacemaking and Iraq, government officials said on condition of anonymity.
A brief palace statement carried by the official Petra news agency
reported that the meeting took place, but did not disclose details,
saying Schwarzenegger was on a "private visit to the kingdom."
Abdullah is a friend of Schwarzenegger and has visited the governor at
his home in Los Angeles.
The stop in Jordan was arranged after an Associated Press story on
Friday in which Arab-Americans in Southern California criticized the
governor's trip because it did not include a meeting with Palestinians.
"As you know, you always will find criticism no matter what you do,"
Schwarzenegger said of the complaints.
Sabiha Kahn, a spokeswoman for the California branch of the Washington,
D.C.-based Council on American-Islamic Relations, called the Jordan
visit "a good step in the right direction," but said the governor should
also visit the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
"I know he is more than willing to learn about all sides, and he should
show that by visiting the Palestinian-occupied territory," she said.
"There is a conflict and he is only meeting with the Israeli side."
At the museum site in Jerusalem on Sunday, Schwarzenegger delivered an
emotional speech, saying that in a world of violence and suicide
attacks, the museum would stand as a "candle to guide us."
"The world should know we are not building a bunker. We're building
something that breathes with life, just as God breathed life into us,"
he said. "We look past the suicide bombers, the terrorists, past the
blood. ... We look ahead to the time people can live side by side."
His speech came minutes after Palestinian gunmen ambushed and killed a
pregnant Jewish settler and her four young daughters. Israel retaliated
with an airstrike on a Gaza radio station affiliated with the militant
Hamas group, and with another strike on a car full of militants in the
West Bank city of Nablus, killing four.
Schwarzenegger later laid a wreath at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial
during a ceremony at which he also rekindled the memorial's symbolic
eternal flame. Wearing a skullcap, he bowed his head and stood in
silence for several minutes.
The memorial is a vault-like chamber with the ashes of Holocaust victims
buried beneath its marble floor.
Also Sunday, Schwarzenegger met with senior Israeli government
officials, including Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who welcomed him to
Israel. He wished the prime minister good luck in a Likud Party vote
taking place that day on Sharon's plan to withdraw Israel from the Gaza
Strip. The plan, however, was soundly rejected.
Although the public events he attended Sunday were somber ones, the
reaction of average Israelis to the celebrity governor was anything but
subdued.
Schwarzenegger was cheered everywhere he went, with many admirers
wearing T-shirts with his picture emblazoned on the front. Some
shirtless men showed up to greet him with "We Love Arnold" scrawled
across their chests.
"We've got a lot of stars in Hollywood, but nobody measures up to that,"
said Jonathan Stern, a sergeant in the Israeli army who took a leave
from his job to catch a glimpse of the governor.
"People love him," said Stern, who was in uniform. "He's the best. The
Terminator."

The Dems are just frustrated and outraged that Schwarzenegger has done
more to fix California's budget problems in a few months than Gray Davis
did in a few years. If you took a poll today, i bet you would find that
many of those who voted for Bustamante are now supporting Schwarzenegger.
