Dream on.
You don't think there's millions of lines of beaureaucratic
code specifying exactly what is to be spent and where
that has resulted from 20 years of demopublican subservience
to the pentagon?
Oclintcain will increase military spending and adventurism.
Count on it.
First, the U.S. military needs to get a shot in the arms after the
Bush misadventurism in Iraq. Can we wage war in two theaters of
influence simultaneously? No. Think of the equipment we need to
replace just to keep our military in shape after the wear and tear by
the grind of sand in Iraq. And if you don't believe that the U.S.
should at least have that interventionist option (just an option, not
that we will/must use it), then go vote for Ron Paul.
Can't you see what Obama's doing? He is pulling another nixon in
'72. Even if we decide to leave Iraq tomorrow, we CAN'T pull all
troops out at once within a few short months. So all that impression
about against this, against that is just for show because in reality
we simply can't do it--without exacting serious risks on our economy.
Are people going to stop pumping gas then? Empty rhectorics. Just
how would a hasty withdrawal affects the already vulnerable U.S.
economy? Think about the flow of oil. What if there's a significant
disruption due to Civil War? What if Iran sent ground troops to
meddle with Iraq's internal politics? Do we have an oil embargo
against Iran then? Yeah, just go and bomb them. Sure. What good
does that do? What long term goal will it accomplish?
**Have you forgotten that invading Iraq has nothing to do with the
culprits who perpetuated 9/11?
