Strong earthquake rattles Nicaragua, Costa Rica

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, July 1 (Reuters) - A strong earthquake shook
Nicaragua and Costa Rica on Friday but there were no reports of damage
or injuries.
The quake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.7 struck at 8:16 p.m. local
time (0216 GMT), according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake, whose epicenter was near the southern Pacific coast of
Nicaragua, shook buildings and lasted up to 30 seconds, witnesses in
the Nicaraguan capital of Managua said.
No casualties or damage were reported, Juan Rodriguez, a spokesman for
Nicaragua's rescue authorities, told Reuters.
The temblor was also felt in northern Costa Rica. Authorities there
said they had no reports of injuries or damage.

During 22-27 June, Popocat=E9petl volcano had several steam explosions.
On 22 June, there was a volcano-tectonic micro-earthquake of magnitude
2.0, located 500 m NW of the crater at a depth of 4.6 km. On 23 June a
pilot reported an ash cloud 8 km (26,000 ft) a.s.l. This ash cloud was
not observed in satellite imagery due to dense weather clouds. On 24
June a VT earthquake of magnitude 2.3, was located 2.5 km S of the
crater and a depth of 6.4 km (21,000 ft). On 23 June CENAPRED received
reports of ash fall in Tetela del volc=E1n and Ocuituco, municipalities
of Morelos.
Popocat=E9petl, whose name is the Aztec word for smoking mountain,
towers to 5,426 m 70 km SE of M=E9xico City and is North America's
second-highest volcano.

Wally, you sound surprise about this.
I have been 'predicting' major changes on the Eastern Coastline of the Pacific Rim
since January (with some of the most major events happening in June [and extending
into July] ).
So, why the surprise !!!
OK, my predictions on specific days have been off, but, my predictions of the
locations have had an 'uncanny' accuracy that even leaves me wondering !!!
