A new fac-simile of an original edition of the Prophecies |
Good news for Nostradamus afficionados. The Geneva-based
bookstore 'Librairie DROZ' has just announced its recent
publication in fac-simile form of the so-called November 1557
original edition of the Prophecies by Antoine du Rosne.
*
This very same book had originally been reprinted in fac-simile
form in 1993 by Les Éditions Michel Chomarat, in Lyon. I am now
in the position of stating unequivocally that the graphic artist
who retouched that 1993 printing for its publication made a mess
of it and that this new reprint is much more faithful to the
original.
*
Here is an excerpt from the September 2005 catalogue by DROZ
describing this new reprint:
*
Page 26 - Renaissance : [QUOTE]
*
"Les Prophéties de M. Michel Nostradamus". Fac-similé de
l'édition d'Antoine du Rosne, Lyon, 1557, relié en cuir sous
emboîtage en cuir, avec fascicule d'accompagnement de Gérard
Morisse, «Nostradamus cet humaniste»
2005, 2 volumes: 48 p. et 160p. CHF 92,15 E 62,42
ISBN: 963-09-4643-2 Varia, 88
*
Budapest.
*
Every year Nostradamus would publish predictions based on the
astrology he practiced. The copy of his 'Prophecies' reproduced
here is extremely rare. The original, which was published in
Lyons in 1557, is now in the Hungarian National Library in
Budapest. [END OF QUOTE]

Well, I haven't really left. Here is what I do here:
*
1. I lurk and read apparently on-topic articles.
*
2. I respond to on-topic articles about which I have something to
add.
*
3. I post or re-post from time to time articles of my own for the
benefit of other lurkers.
*
As to your comment about apn being in bad shape, a rather simple
recipe can assist returning it to its original mission, namely
discussing Nostradamus' Prophecies.
*
1. Do not respond to OFF-TOPIC articles, even if you have a lot
to say about them; this merely encourages those who use this
NewsGroup to vent their frustration about A, B, C, D, etc...
*
2. If you have the time and inclination to do so (I don't), start
chasing away those who persistently pollute this NewsGroup with
OFF-TOPIC crap, which I consider an abuse of this unmoderated
NewsGroup.
*
3. Contribute ON-TOPIC articles of your own if you have something
to say (or to ask) about Nostradamus' Prophecies.
*
Have a nice day, folks!

I remember years ago when Claude was king of apn. Now, the nuts have
taken over and it is hardly worth the trouble.

If you really want to understand the ancient symbology used to seal
prophecies and wisdom texts, including many of the quatrains, download
the FREE ebook from the following site(s). It includes an extensive
glossary and pivotal interpretations.
