New Poll Says Most Canadians Blame the U.S. for 9/11 Attacks.

A majority of Canadians believe U.S. foreign policy was one of the root
causes that led to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, and Quebecers are quicker to
criticize the U.S. administration for its international actions than other
Canadians, a recent poll suggests.
Those conclusions are found in a newly released poll conducted by Léger
Marketing for the Association for Canadian Studies.
The poll suggests that 77 per cent of Quebecers polled primarily blame
American foreign policy for the Sept. 11 attacks. The results suggest 57 per
cent in Ontario hold a similar view.
When participants were given the option of choosing more than one cause for
the attacks, two-thirds blamed Islamic fundamentalists and their
anti-Western views, while a third pointed the finger at Israel and its
position in the Middle East.

Problem is the Quebec media. FOr instance, when Hezbollah attacked Israel
with massive strikes against Northen israeli cities, and the Farms of
Shebaa, before they went into Israel and kidnapped two soldiers adn killed
8, all the media ever said about this, and even weeks later, was the
kidnapping of 2 soldiers and that Israel attacked. Anotehr example is the
recent busting of an anti-semite site in Canada and the 16 months proson
sentence, which I posted here a couple of days ago. Even though ist is in
Canada, no French media reported it.
To this day, 90% of Quebeckers believe that the initial attack was merely a
kidnaping, and that Israel retaliated with extreme force, hence why they are
under the impression that Harper saying that the response was measured was
*****. It isn't of course. But they don't get the real news and it is sad
that there is a greater bias against the US in Quebec, by journalists, not
sure why. I guess it may have to do with the Arabs speaking French and being
an important lobby here, as well as the French from France who are very
influential, I don't know.
A last remark: I'd still be cautious about these result before I see exactly
how the question was worded in French. If you ask what was the reason Bin
Laden had for attacking the US you would get this answer, there is no other,
doesn't mean Binny had any reason other than his hate for anything not
Islamic.
But indeed, the media is so biased here, that this is possible that many
Quebeckers are indirectly influenced by anti-Western propaganda by the very
omission of the media here in the name of liberalism.
