Ahmadinejad Threatens President Bush
TEHRAN -- (AFP) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shocked
reporters today at a news conference when he suddenly grew angry,
pounded the podium with his fists, and yelled out a threat aimed at
President George Bush.
"All right you cur! You've called down the thunder....you tell 'em I'm
coming, and hell's coming with me!" said Ahmadinejad, raising his voice
before a stunned, crowded news conference of international reporters.
"I'm your huckleberry," he said, "and you say when." He made a hand
gesture representing a handgun, smiling, and waving his hand around
over his head several times.
ABC news reporter, Shaun O'Shea, said some recognized the words as part
of the script from an American western movie, "Tombstone," in which
Marshal Wyatt Earp, played by Kurt Russell, threatened the outlaw
group, the Cowboys, after they killed one of his brothers, and wounded
another. The 'huckleberry' remark apparently was part of dialogue
uttered by Doc Halliday, played by Val Kilmer, to Johnny Ringo in the
movie.
The angry statement came as part of a response to a reporter's question
about Bush's support of Israel.
