Don't watch this movie if your religious because it will destroy your faith
in god. The narrative actually starts after 10 mins but there's some pretty
compelling video leading up to it.

I can't pass up that challenge.

So I skipped to 10 mins in, and watched about seven minutes from that
point before I couldn't take anymore. I was laughing so hard, I
couldn't hear the 16-year-old's narrative over my laughter. To destroy
my faith in God, it would take someone far more informed than the
person who produced this juvenile piece of comedy.

I found it interesting enough. Interesting in that it was a quite
excellent propoganda film, rather than any scientific examination.
Now, Don't mis-understand. I will never believe in a 'God', and that
statement is not made in defence of a 'Devinity'. It's made as a
rebuke to all who blindly listen to, and accept powerfully presented
'facts' and mould them into ideas where they harden into 'truths'.
There's not too much difference between preaching 'for' and preaching
'against' a God it would seem. Both employ similar tactics.
You suprise me though, Steven. I left your statement in at the top of
this, simply because you are also using a form of persuasion that
pervades this film. You use ridicule. Inaccurate ridicule at that.
Had you watched more, you would have found that only a third of the
film concerns Devinity. The remainder is a series of Conspiracy
theories about your 11/9 outrage. (I will not pander to your odd time
scale in writing dates)
So, I'll just say what I think of the 'revelations' in this film. They
are in every way as bad..maybe worse...than the propoganda of the
bible. They use quasi-scientific 'fact' and the author has ensured the
listener is bombarded with a mass of information without time to
assimulate methodically, or to examine in detail. Use of sound effects
and almost sub-liminal techniques of warfare, did nothing to advance
any anti- devinity arguement. Those 'incredible' similarities between
so many 'God's' of old were both inaccurate and contained as much
guess-work as does the Religious Community's views. Sadly, the film
attempted to use science as a method of giving both authenticity and
credibility to it's claims. From an Astronomical viewpoint, quite a
few 'errors' are apparant; not leats is the assertion that ancient
people understood the precession of the equinox. They certainly did
not, and he 'Sothern Cross' group of stars is just that anyway,
Southern. Invisible from the Northern hemisphere. Sirius also is all
but invisible..no, the film is just as bad as the bible. Both make
ridiculous assertions.

I knew that before I started watching. I looked it up on the internet
to see what was being said about it. And once I saw how ridiculous it
was, I saw no need to watch any further. I do appreciate that you saw
it as a propaganda film. I believe someone with some knowledge could
have done a much better job -- but presenting actual facts would
necessarily destroy the twisted message this film attempts to pass as
truth.

You know, Steven, it's not a good idea to click on a link posted by
someone you don't know to a site you're not familiar with. People have
been known to infect web sites with nasty stuff and then post links in
various forums to try to get people to go to the site. If you must click
on such links, be sure that you have java and javascript disabled, and
don't use IE - use a more obscure browser (firefox, opera, etc).

Yes, Stevie, clicking on these unfamiliar usenet-distributed sites (as
with emails, too) can result in a most unpleasant deposit of a nasty
trojan or worm. It's something like picking up a cheap crack-headed,
crab-laden prostitute which, you being such a happy antiseptic boy scout
of America, you'd not know anything about, of course. One of the most
recent gimmicks is to send an email claiming a friend or family member has
left you a nice lil' greeting card at an URL you need to click.
Listen to Woods, and learn from me -- your wise elders -- and you'll be
more likely to stay a happy boyish camper. If you need any more advice on
how to stay so happy and clean and innocent, just let me know. Boy scouts
are my specialty.
Doc :))~

Thank you. That's good advice. I do have a very good anti-malware
program running. But before I clicked the link, I went around the
internet to see what people were saying about this film. I saw nothing
to indicate that link would be a problem.
