As of Sept 26th of this year, the NG's only war hero, Dreamwalker, will
have completed his first full year of duty in Iraq ... or Kuwait, whichever.
To the best of my knowledge, he is still there. I may have missed his
post of return.

Recieved a request from the DOD two weeks ago. The request is a
voluntary call up for heavy armor personnel. Several others from my
reserve unit also recieved the same request. I haven't been in a tank
since 1992. My reserve duty following Desert Storm consisted of supply.
After a long debate with myself and family I've decided to go. My
physical was Tuesday of last week. Although 44 yo, I'm in perfect
health. I have a departure date of 09/28. I'll probably be brought up to
speed on new targeting and imaging equipment but I simply don't know
what's ahead. Truth be known, I don't have a good feeling about this.
Anyway, this is my last post. So long.
