Small earthquake shakes Kern County
MARICOPA, Calif. Kern County has been rocked by a small earthquake.
A preliminary report from the U-S Geological Survey says the
four-point-one-magnitude quake struck at 7:29 p-m. It was centered 13
miles east of Maricopa and 24 miles south-southwest of Bakersfield.
A sheriff's dispatcher says there were no reports of damage or
injuries.
A magnitude-five-point-one earthquake struck in the same area April
16th and was felt as far away as downtown Los Angeles. Several dozen
aftershocks followed that quake.
