A typical attitude towards Nostradamus' quatrains is to take a
part of it and make it fit the most recent event. In this case,
line 3 of III-3 provides that ammunition:

Line 3 could be understood as meaning that in the depth of Asia
it shall be said that the Earth is trembling. Which does nicely
fit recent events. Problem: what about the rest of the poem?

In line 1, Nostradamus appears to be giving us planetary
positionas to play with. Do they fit?
*

This suggests a triple conjunction of Mars, Mercury and the Moon.
How come the Moon? Gold is the Sun, silver is the Moon. (And
Mercury is copper, etc.)

Taking an ephemeris for December 26, 2004, date of this now
famous Asian quake, we find:

1. Mars at 0=B0 Sagittarius.
2. Mercury at 12=B0-13=B0 Sagittarius.
3. Moon first in Gemini and later in Cancer.

Doesn't fit very well. In fact, it doesn't fit at all.

Shall we go on?
*
Line 2 speaks of the time of day (towards Noon). That doesn't fit
either. It also speaks of an extremely high heat. No way for this
earthquake-*****-tsunami to fit that condition.
*
And what about line 4? Well it has nothing to do with Asia, It
makes a much beter fit to another (future) event, i.e., the
nuking of the Aegean Sea. But then again, line 1 does not fit.
Line 2 is a perfect fit to a thermonuclear blast at about Noon.
And, to top the cake, line 3 no longer fits at all, as Asia
cannot possibly refer to the Aegean Sea, even allowing for a
loose understanding that Asia Minor (modern day Turkey) is
referred to.

Unless, of course, Turkey were to use the opportunity of this
unintended nuking of the Aegean Sea in the Cyclads, killing about
100,000 Greeks on Sunday, March 11, 2012, to further invade
Cyprus, so as to finish the job begun in 1974?

Which would then explain why the Greeks are so perplexed.

Now, does it fit any better?
