Object: Better off sticking to simple mischaracterization
rather than send someone out there to lie about treasonous acts.
But then some of us consider mischaracterization to be a treasonous
act.
Guess this is more evidence that I hate America.
UPDATE: Scott McClellan in Upcoming Book Ties Bush to CIA Leak Case --
Dodd Calls for Probe

"The most powerful leader in the world had called upon me to speak on
his behalf and help restore credibility he lost amid the failure to
find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. So I stood at the White
house briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights
for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the
senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby.
"There was one problem. It was not true.
"I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the
highest ranking officials in the administration "were involved in my
doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice President, the President's chief of
staff, and the president himself."
AP reported this afternoon: "White House press secretary Dana Perino
said it wasn't clear what McClellan meant in the excerpt and she had
no immediate comment. McClellan turned down interview requests
Tuesday."
Wouldn't the President be willing to submit to an interview if Mr.
Cheney was there with him again?
Dodd wants a probe. Looks like Henry Waxman won't be the only very
busy congressman.

It seems pretty clear to me. I wonder if Ms Perino is having that
selective reasoning problem that afflicts so many neocons.
Olbermann raised in interesting question yesterday in an interview
with John Dean (the clip is on CrooksAndLiars.com).. his question was
that if Bush had even passing knowledge of the leak of Plame's identity,
then in pardoning Libby he was effectively breaking the law to protect
himself.

Wouldn't the President be willing to submit to an interview if Mr.
Cheney was there with him again?

It seems pretty clear the democrats have lots of dirt on ALL the Bush
senior officials, and they may be just sitting on their hands in the
hopes this will be the most damaging to the GOP in 2008.. but with such
an avalanche of evidence coming out they may not be able to sit on the
sidelines with this for another year.

They got off on the wrong foot at the beginning. They lied and got
away with it and it's gotten to be a habit.
It seems to make them so successful for such a relatively short period
of time.

So we could see him impeached AND go to prison. I'd be happy to have
him go to an American prison. Easier to get access to him when Iraq
eventually decides to try him for crimes war crimes.

Odd the way it works. Remember the old saying that justice delayed is
justice denied? Here justice takes a back seat to politics and gets
delayed for an election.
Makes ya want to stand up and cheer.
Which I may do anyway once they expand the evening news every night
just to get all the corruption out into the open.

Yep. I just saw Charlie Rose interview Michael Oreskes, a co-author of
the book "The Genius of America - How the Constitution Saved Our
Country and Why It Can Again".. it's sort of a current political
picture in the context of the US Constitution framers' intentions.
Oreskes points out the framers would not have been surprised at the
Bush administration's desire to grab more power for itself, but they
would have been disappointed and dismayed at the Congress' inability
and unwillingness to use it's Constitutional power to push back at
the Executive branch.

The transcript and audio haven't hit Rose's website yet, but I'm sure
it will in a couple days.
