What would be the level of horror be if this were happening daily in
the U.S. capitol?
Bush and Co. should be tried for war crimes.

Bombs kill nearly 200 in Baghdad after PM's pledge
Wed Apr 18, 2007 3:43PM EDT
By Dean Yates and Paul Tait
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Car bombs killed nearly 200 people in Baghdad on
Wednesday in the deadliest attacks in the city since U.S. and Iraqi
forces launched a security crackdown aimed at halting the country's
slide into civil war.
One car bomb alone in the mainly Shi'ite Sadriya neighborhood killed
140 people and wounded 150, police said, making it the worst insurgent
bomb attack in Baghdad since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.
"The street was transformed into a swimming pool of blood," Ahmed
Hameed, a shopkeeper near the scene, told Reuters.
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, speaking in Tel Aviv on a visit
to the region, called the bombings "horrifying" and indicated Sunni
Islamist al Qaeda was to blame.
The apparently coordinated attacks -- there were four within a short
space of time -- occurred hours after Shi'ite Prime Minister Nuri al-
Maliki said Iraq would take security control of the whole country from
foreign forces by the end of the year.

He is the joke!

"Steven" isn't the only issue. Steven's representative of a number of
ills that have plagued this country.
Steven represents the lies, mischaracterization, the perversion of
faith, the lack of respect for human life that results in things like
the invasion of Iraq.
This country was manipulated by fear, lies and anger into doing
incredible damage in the Middle East. People are suffering on a grand
scale because we were deceived on a grand scale. Sadly enough it's
not the first time in our history it's happened. We need to be aware
of these things so they'll never happen again.
The people involved in these murderous charades should be held in open
contempt. Their methods and motivations should be held up for
inspection and denuded. They should be ostracized.
Steven himself is an insignificant bug. What is said here won't shake
the world. But there is enlightenment to be found even in the
smallest conversation and there are things that need to be said. They
need to be said plainly, straightforwardly and often.

This was an Al Qaeda attack against Iraqi civilians. This was outside
agitators murdering Iraqis. Sadistic terrorists targeting innocent
civilians. These are not Randy's "freedom fighters." These are foreign
terrorists who intend to ensure there will be no reconciliation
between some factions of the Sunni insurgency and the democratically
elected Iraqi government. It's sickening. It's maddening. What do you
think would happen if we were to suddenly abandon the Iraqi
government?

It was an "Al Queda" attack against a Shia target. We'll try to keep
Steven on the right track here. We don't want anyone disturbing the
facts and the proper context.

The Iraq Parliament Attack: Al-Qaeda Sends a Message
Thursday, Apr. 12, 2007
By BRIAN BENNETT/BAGHDAD
[excerpt] Within an hour of the explosion, a message from the al-Qaeda-
controlled Islamic State in Iraq was posted on a prominent militant
website, muslm.net, calling the blast a "message" to anyone who
cooperates with "the occupier and its agents." It said ominously, "We
will reach you wherever you are"
The extremists want to stop efforts of reconciliation between the
Iraqi government and an Iraqi-led, nationalist faction of the
insurgency that has turned on al-Qaeda in recent weeks. That was the
likely motive in an earlier attack on March 23, when Deputy Prime
Minister Salam al-Zubaie was hospitalized after an attack reportedly
carried out by a guard who detonated a suicide vest at al-Zubaie's
compound on the edge of the Green Zone. Al-Zubaie, a Sunni from a
powerful tribe west of Baghdad, is an important promoter of the
reconciliation policy. [end excerpt]

It's a legitimate news story. It has been reported that a faction of
the Sunni insurgency was working on reconciliation with the Iraqi
government, and these Al Qaeda terrorists (who posted on a website, as
the article above mentions) will do whatever it takes to prevent a
Sunni reconciliation with the Iraqi government.

It's important, of course, to do deal with the facts and maintain
proper context because if it's really an Al Queda attack against
innocent freedom yearning Iraqis then Steven's still able to spin his
myths.
To admit to what really happened today would be to understand that
what you really have in Iraq, have had in Iraq, is a civil war. A
civil war with "Al Queda" fighting with the Sunnis.

This is a success that Mr. Bush is claiming. It's happening over there
and not here. Part of his overall ME strategy.
Ali Alawi said week before last on Charlie Rose that the violence in
Iraq wouldn't get any worse if we left.
Turns out, in actuality, that one of the things we're doing with the
establishment of government structure there is providing a platform
for the Shiites to bring Sunnis under heel. The only new government
ministry they really insisted on running after the elections was the
Ministry of Interior. You know what Saddam did with his Ministry of
Interior? Control over domestic surveillance and those commando
teams. All those torture centers at your disposal.
Of course then Sunnis are contesting this on any one of a number of
levels.
Play along with the Americans and their "dream" of freedom and
democracy in Iraq. We'll provide what it takes to bring our own peace
and stability to Iraq.
