Yellow Knife, Yukon Territories - (CNS) - The RCMP is investigating the
grisly murder of APN contributor, 'Ahmadinejad,' found beheaded in a
rental cabin near Yellow Knife Monday evening.
'Ahmadinejad' was the online pseudonymn of Ahmad Al-Deen El-Mahumad. Local
officials tell CNS that he'd been a resident for several years.
"He kept to himself and no one much knew him," Jenna Yulonda, a local
bartender. "He came into our bar for drinks and meals, played some pinball
and pool, but we don't know much more about him. He seemed okay to me."
Long-time resident and APN contributor, "Jane," nicknamed "Calamity Jane"
by patrons of the Paul Bunyan's Bar and Grill, where she is a regular
patron, told RCMP officials and local police she wasn't surprised at
hearing of El-Mahumad's death.
"He was a phony Muslim, said all kinds of blasphemous things against
Islam," she said. "It seemed only a matter of time until a contract was
put out on him to shut his lying mouth up. I believe one of the terrorist
groups, perhaps Hamas, did it."
'Calamity Jane' was described as a "bar fly" by some local residents who
said they saw her pick up El-Mahumad at the Paul Bunyon tavern two days
before he was found dead.
"She's being questioned," Loren Colett, a RCMP spokesman said. "We have at
least one other 'person of interest' we're interrogating at this time."
El-Mahumad, 42, lived alone in a small rental cabin but neighbors said
they are "pretty sure" they saw a woman matching Calamity Jane's
description at his home Saturday night.
"I saw a woman come home with him that night," an unnamed resident said.
"She had her arms around him, kissing him, laughing it up, and both
appeared very intoxicated."
RCMP detective, Ray Utwuqit, said El-Muhumad's head had apparently been
severed by a wood axe. The head was found in his cabin's toilet.
