Patriot Act, for starters. Huge deficit is another.
The nation was already into a reccession during Clinton's last year in office,
we were then attacked just 7 1/2 months into the Bush administration which
caused the economy to tank further.
Actually, it was not in a recession until March of 2000.
Now the economy is in recovery.
With the profits going mostly to business, not to workers. Usually, recoveries
experience 80% of the profits going back into workers (ie - more jobs are
created) with businesses gaining 20% of the additional revenues. This
"recovery" is flip-flopped, and is therefore very likely to be unsustainable.
On the Military front, we were forced into war in Afghanistan by the attacks of
9-11-01
Agreed.
The war against Iraq was just the next step in our war against radical elements
in the Islamic world. Saddam continued to ignore the resolution passed against
his country, he continued to make threats against every nation in the region.
Well, you can believe whatever you want. There was no threat, no WMDs, nothing
whatsoever that warranted our invasion of Iraq, save OIL.
Were we supposed to wait until he launched missiles at Israel again and caused
an all out war between the Arabs and Israel?
Well, if you want to go off into all of the "what ifs" that every leader on the
planet could do, you must think it's okay to invade any country. It is not.
Or perhaps we should have waited until he devolped nukes? Or maybe until he
passed WMD to Al Qeada? The latter may have already happened during the 7 month
wait that you and your Liberal friends made sure happened.
Maybe we should just take over the planet, huh?
So just how did President Bush "screw up the country" ?
