Object: Desperate Amerika Sends Expensive New Prototype to Iraq
The U$ is replacing ~$100,000 Hummers that are being blown up on a daily
basis, with 10x more expensive new Stryker APCs, which will also be blown
up on a daily basis. Strykers can't stop a roadside bomb blast, or an
RPG-7, they're basically the same kind of APC that the Soviets used in
Afghanistan and Chechnya... only they cost alot more. Here they are for
comparison...
The supposedly "revolutionary" $1m Stryker APC:

The 40yr old bargain-basement Soviet BTR design:

The Soviet one at least has some firepower and doesn't cost $1m like the
Stryker, and being amphibious is nice too I suppose, but it's still just
a sitting duck in an urban situation as proven in Chechnya...
New Army 'Stryker' combat vehicle nears Iraq test
It's fast. It's lethal. And now it's going to Iraq. But is this new US
weapon ready for combat?

"...rarely has a major armored combat system gone from the production
line into a war zone so quickly. The first of the 19-ton, eight-wheeled
Stryker vehicles arrived at Fort Lewis just 16 months ago in June 2002.
On Sept. 17, the Pentagon sent a formal operational evaluation of the
system to Congress, starting the clock on a 30-day waiting period before
first Stryker brigade can deploy overseas.
Stryker's harshest critics have charged that the vehicles are dangerously
flawed, with vulnerable wheels and inadequate armor that will make them
deadly for troops riding inside."

any discussion? nope.
as to terrorist war, racists generally say that. it's proof of how he
despises arabs. 65% of iraqis want us there. he, however, hates arabs
so much, he wants them to have continued to be murdered by the tens of

Once again, here is the explanation for the ignorance of the rightards:
http://www.pipa.org/OnlineReports/Iraq/Media_10_02_03_Report.pdf
The extent of Americans' misperceptions vary significantly depending on
their source of news. Those who receive most of their news from Fox News
are more likely than average to have misperceptions. Those who receive
most of their news from NPR or PBS are less likely to have
misperceptions. These variations cannot simply be explained as a result
of differences in the demographic characteristics of each audience,
because these variations can also be found when comparing the
demographic subgroups of each audience.

Children would have been vaccinated at a higher rate during Saddam's
rein if not for the U.S. imposed sanctions.

really? care to prove it? and i guess you didnt realize the british
found warehouses in basra filled with medicines and vaccines that
hussein hoarded.
oh, im sorry...am i offending your deep abiding love for hussein?

Some 3.5 million Iraqi children were vaccinated this week in a campaign
organized by Iraq's Health Ministry, the United Nations Children's Fund,
and the World Health Organization.

notice how the moron tries to use a reference from BEFORE the war
ended to disprove a UN statement that MILLIONS of iraqi children ARE
being vaccinated NOW
he LOVES hussein.

says the moron who thinks iraqi children are dying of disease in the
dark...and has been proven wrong.

the idiot's fundie america hatred strikes again.

Once again, here is the explanation for the ignorance of the rightards:

since i didnt vote for either bush, we can safely say that the idiot's
analysis of the situation has failed brilliantly

The extent of Americans' misperceptions vary significantly depending on
their source of news. Those who receive most of their news from Fox News

never watch fox news, sorry.

are more likely than average to have misperceptions. Those who receive
most of their news from NPR or PBS are less likely to have
misperceptions

NPR is a primary source of info for me, along with the 'guardian', and
the 'economist'
oh. you dont know what those are.
yeah, figures...
someone like you who thinks APRIL is representative of TODAY'S
situation in iraq is a pathetic loser.

where did you EVER get the idea that meant war? looks like
you're putting words in the man's mouth. i read his comments.
what he said was it was time to prepare for when castro is no
longer in charge. that sure as hell doesn't sound like
prepping for war.

And you actually believe the ***** Bush spews? Look at the
lies about Iraq, 9/11, Al-Qaeda

this is, of course, a non sequitur, and goalpost moving.

the topic was the supposed 'war' we're getting ready for in
cuba. no proof was offered that we ARE preparing for war, so
NOW the loser tries to change the topic.

loser.

says the guy who's all too willing to apologize for genocidal
killers like hussein. after all, he's just a sand-*****
killing other sand niggers. and, in his view, who cares?

I apologize for nothing. I agree Saddam had to go, he could
have been assasinated instead of the killing your country is
doing now.

really? who was gonna assassinate him? dont follow issues in
iraq much, do you?

and 'we' are killing no one. there is more electric power
available today than there was when you lover was in power.

That is an outright lie.

In every single news report from journalists in Iraq the people
are complaining that power is much LESS available than when
Saddam was in power. When Saddam was in power, electricity was
on 24/7. Now it's on less than 4 hours a day.

there are 200
non-govt newspapers in iraq now.

Except for the Arab papers the U.S. shut down. Some freedom of
press.

there were none before we liberated
it. literally, ALL hospitals are open.

Their open, but there's no supplies.

children are being vaccinated.

And you're a lying sack of *****.

Either that or you are completely ignorant of what is happening

facts.
i have never voted for ANY bush. and will not do so next year.

From another one of his responses in this thread, he is either a lying
sack of ***** or completely ignorant of the situation in Iraq.

loser.

Bu$h is asking for new sanctions against Cuba, and he has significantly
increased CIA interference/terror in Cuba and Venezuela according to Castro
and Chavez. Sound familiar? That's right, more "regime change". You know
how that ends up.
