Object: FAQ re Nostradamus and death of Pope
Q. Did Nostradamus predict the death of Pope John Paul II?
A. Not specifically, no. True, some of us have for years been
wondering whether Nostradamus's 'Pol mensolee' might in some way be
connected with him -- but since the term is connected by the texts
with a death in France, three leagues (i.e. some eight miles) from the
river Rhône (which in fact pinpoints the abbey of St-Paul-de-Mausole,
a few hundred yards from Nostradamus's birthplace at St-Rémy), and not
in Rome at all (VIII.46), either we were mistaken or Nostradamus was
wrong.
But then it doesn't take a prophet to predict the undated death of
anybody at all, does it?
It remains to be seen whether his successor corresponds in any way
with Malachy's (or Pseudo-Malachy's) 'Gloria Olivae' -- whether in
terms of a peaceful reign, or of olive skin, or whatever... I'm sure
*somebody* will find a link!

Gidday Pete, nice to see your posts once again!\
No doubt the half baked ones will try and mount a hue and cry.
LB
C5-Q49
Not from Spain but from ancient France
Will one be elected for the trembling bark,
To the enemy will a promise be made,
He who will cause a cruel plague in his realm.
CVQ49. Another one for the Papacy. A French Pope will be elected,
rather than a Spanish one. Actually, only Italian Popes have been
elected sine Nostradamus' day (specifically, since 1522). "The enemy"
probably refers to the Spanish, traditional French enemy of the 16th
century.
Thus Cardinal Lustiger, Archbishop of Paris fills the criteria of both
prophet's, but he will serve for only seven months. Next Nostradamus
tells us that this new Pope will only live seven months.
