Ergo, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the
evildoer"; i.e. the ego-self; literally, the devil-incarnate.
Your mortal ego-self is the devil-incarnate as your physical,
mortal, temporizing manifestation of your immortal soul-body.
God wants to help you, but God isn't going to do it for you.
You must participate in your salvation. Jesus is our brother
in the tribulation. Take up your tau, your ankh, and walk the
walk! Don't just talk the talk, or you'll pay the piper, bub.
The point is, if you don't feel married to God, obligated to
doing God's will, to hearing God's word, to giving thanks to
God always, then you are already an adulterer--and a traitor
against God eternal. You have violated all Ten Commandments,
even the Golden Rule upon which God's Eternal Universal Law
is eternally founded--infinite, like God's Universe, as with
eternal soul, each of whom has no ultimate beginning, and no
ultimate ending; but falls into temptation from time to time.
The least you can do is admit that you are a sinner, and that
you need God's eternal salvation in Jesus Christ our LORD and
Saviour. Because without God, your soul is in grave danger of
Death & Hell, then the Judgment. You'll pay every penny owed.

That's interesting, but the most recent studies show that children who
live in homes where their mother is single or lives with a boyfriend
are far more likely to be abused than children who live in traditional
homes. Do you have a cite to back up your claim?

The way you worded your post makes it sound like the more religious
someone is, the more likely he is a child abuser. Was that your
intention? Yet the studies show a cohabiting boyfriend makes if far
more likely there will child abuse in that home. Do you think the more
religious someone is, the more likely he'll be cohabiting outside of
marriage?

Homosexuality runs rampent in the Mormon Church too!!! I remember when I
was about 16, I joined because the Mormon missionaries were cute!! When I
confessed my 'gayness' to the Bishop, I discovered they had a whole 'bureau'
to deal with the problem.

At least they have an 'open' policy! Catholics always sweep
their...'errors of judgement'...under the carpet.
One ordained priest that I came across, would always be naked beneath

Perhaps mondo can explain what this "bureau" was all about! I'm not
taking his comment at face value. From what I know of the Mormon
church, they have as many secrets as any religion!

Please examine how many people in the world are 'single' parents...and
how many are religious clerics.
Extrapolate and I'm sure you will find an inordinate number of 'the
cloth' inclined in the direction of child abuse.
Too many of these people use an occupation such as 'Foster care
worker', Clergy, and even teachers in order to 'get close' to children
for their peculiar needs.
As a British Police Officer, I have dealt with a great many of these
people. In rather too many instances, the offenders have either been
clergy, or respected church-goers.
I don't need any statistical survey. It's a simple fact. A lot of
religious zealots have a hidden agenda.
I remember one vicar for his...peculiarity. He was a part-time teacher
guiding moral behaviour at a local school, in addition to his clerical
'calling'. Sadly, public toilets also held a certain 'calling' for him.
He would remove his clothes in a cubicle...even in the winter...attach
fish hooks through his nipples, then swing from the cistern from these
uncomfortable attachments, via fishing lines. This would cause him
sexual pleasure and satisfaction.
I advised him to seek medical help when I found him 'in the act'.
Instead, he continued, and a few months later I found his experiments
had gone a touch wrong. He was in his home swinging from the stairway
newell post, having achieved pleasure through self strangulation with a
strong cord. The cord had several previous cuts in it that had been
re-tied. Just out of his reach was a pair of scissors. He had become
very blotchy on his face, his eyes bulged and had been dead about 4
hours.
Oh dear...look how dangerous it is to miscalculate reaching distance.

I detest child abusers of any stripe. And I believe those who do it
from a position of power in their clerical roles will have "hell" to
pay in the grand scheme of things. Of course I believe that about ANY
child abuser. But I assumed the original poster was referring to
religious people in general, not just the clerics. And the numbers show
(whether you acknowledge them or not) is that a child has an
inordinately higher chance of being abused in a home where the single
mother brings home the boyfriends than a child does who lives in a
traditional home. And those numbers apply to North America, the UK, and
Australia.

I was raised Catholic and was a Jehovah's Witness for 25 years. Their child
abuse problem is the worse I've seen in any religion. They lie to the press,
the media and to the rank and file. The men who run this cult are absolutely
shameless animals. I hope they burn in Hell.
