Anyway, I've just seen Mr Chirac and explained it all to him. He has a
good memory and recalls well the 'boycott' of French goods by the US,
simply because the Nation would not support an Iraq invasion. It's
rather odd that the Nationalistic 'We'll show 'em' sanction policy has
dissipated...and that so many US citizens are themselves questioning
their own President's 'wisdom'.
Anyway..mustn't digress...Mr Chirac asked me to explain to you a
simple economic reality. He will sell what he wants, to who he wants.
It all seems quite fair really. You take away French products wine,
cheese etc, from your shops, and we trade with those with whom we have
a better understanding.
And there was I, thinking that the US sells what it wants.,..to who it
wants. Silly me.
