Real life sometimes *does* look like bad acting.
Real people rarely react with the 'smooth moves'
of professional actors.
"Insurgents" were filming this???
Yes, it winds up on various extremist websites and on pro
insurgency tv stations (Al Jazeera being a case in point).
You know the sort, 'Infidel shot dead - Film at 11'.
Who was the director? He's the one who should be shout!
From the sound of it, apparently he was.....
Put it this way Stat, it just proves that truth is stranger than fiction.

True, but this guy is a particularly bad actor. Lesson number one in these
scenes is always to avoid looking at the camera. He couldn't even do that.
He gets "shot", makes a flip in the air, gets right back up and smiles at
the camera. Common! There must be more talented soldiers out there.

Armytimes.com is an "extremist" website? I thought it'd be army related.

Indeed it is. Which is exactly why the megatons of fiction that we are fed
on a daily bases hasn't done anything for the image of invading forces in
Iraq.

True, but this guy is a particularly bad actor.
That would be because he's not acting.

Considering the camera was hidden, this is not surprising.
He gets "shot",
Oh right, so it was all a set job for the cameras huh?
Stat, you're really grasping on this one.
makes a flip in the air, gets right back up and smiles at
the camera.
Hardly a smile. He did a 'What the F... just happened? Bought his
weapon up and did a quick scan for the shooter, didn't get a tally,
then dived behind the vehicle when he identified the threat axis.
Looked pretty real to me.
Common! There must be more talented soldiers out there.
Perhaps, but it doesn't take talent to get shot at.
"Insurgents" were filming this???

Nice try. Had the attack succeeded, ie they killed him, it would
doubtless have been on Al Jazeera before his NOK were notified.
Since they apparently caught the shooter and the cameraman and they
didn't get their infidel kill, this time it wound up showing that
the Army apparently have very good ballistic vests.
But I'll bet he has a ***** of a bruise.

This was real. You know it and I know it.

No penetration at 75 metres with a Dragonoff? Damn good vest.
Did you look at the video of the incident? I bet they don't
show *that* on Al Jazeera. Must be disconcerting to hit an
enemy fair and square in the centre of mass only to have him
bob up and start directing fire onto your position.
I'm predicting the target will get a decoration for this.
Start with a Purple Heart. If he hasn't got a purple, heart
size, or bigger bruise on his chest I'll eat my hat.

You can bet he's fucking bruised. To take a hit like that and get up..........he's one tough SOB. Of
course they don't show that on the terrorist network.

Well, since he's been injured, he should get a Purple Heart. I'm not
sure what other decorations he or his partner would be eligible for,
since I'm not up on military decorations.
