Gee thanks. As anyone who checks can see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_federal_election%2C_1988
The average vote for Greens where they ran in riddings accross Canada in
1988 was 0.36% (a rise of +.14%)
Me, I got 511 votes on a total of 35,146, which is 1.45%.
Note that the National green Vote for Greens in Canada that year was .4%.
(In Quebec for the first time, we ran candidates in almost all riddings but
they don't even mention our provincial performance on that site.)

In 1993:

This one was harder because the popular Bloc was there this time (look at
the graphic, Quebec is blue, it triggered nationalistic sympathy), also more
parties joined in to get some of these alternatives votes.
Still, you will note that I did manage to beat the New Democrats in
popularity and in votes this time around.
I did beat also the chief of the Abolitionist Party in his own ridding.
But yes, because of this new Bloc fad, I got over 1% of the votes still, 5
times above the Green national average.
So thank you for showing how I contributed to the Green Party evolution. It
is not Europe, here, but I think I comopare with most Greens ridding in the
US as well, although in certain districts, did make some real gain in some
states like California.
And you (or anyone here), how many elections did you run for?

Yes, I can see your point -- if you had run against a NeoNazi party
candidate and a KKK candidate, you likely would've beat 'em.
So, what you are saying is that you improved on the usual popularity of a
Green candidate by garnering more votes than those in the past...but,
Jean, you still only picked up a few hundred votes.
I mean, how much money did you have left in your campaign fund after
paying off all your 'supporters'? With so much of your dough going out to
keep you tanked with Jack Daniels and Smirnoff, and paying for escorts,
I'd have to believe your supporters were shorted.
Docrodile ;))
