Halliburton Gets Contract To Pry Gold Fillings From New Orleans Corpses'
Teeth
September 14, 2005 | Issue 41•37
HOUSTON—On Tuesday, Halliburton received a $110 million no-bid
government contract to pry the gold fillings from the mouths of deceased
disaster victims in the New Orleans-Gulf Coast area. "We are proud to
serve the government in this time of crisis by recovering valuable
resources from the wreckage of this deadly storm," said David J. Lesar,
Halliburton's president. "The gold we recover from the human rubble of
Katrina can be used to make fighter-jet electronics, supercomputer
chips, inflation-proof A-grade investments, and luxury yachting watches."

Do they at least bury the dead after the gold extraction?

Few are buried in south Louisiana, lest they wash away. They are encrypted
above ground. Many of them were washing away in bayou country, even before
the storm, as the land has been washing out to sea, :(.
Yes, I read it in a book.

It's cheaper to incinerate them.

Indeed. Drop 'em in the smelter. What doesn't evaporate should scrape off
easily enough, and the precious metals will collect at the bottom of the
basin. Easy.

At 2500 degrees, there's nothing left that's organic, ashes to ashes. Thank
you Dr Porche.

It would take *lots* of casualties to recover that amount of gold from tooth
fillings.

These chaps would have the contract to clean the floors of Fort Knox,
and that on a daily basis would reap more than an average countries
budget.
So does the word Halliburton now become a bi word for over charging,
graft and corruption?
Funny though they must have a branch anywhere there is a contract.
It is a Cheney World as they say.

A road trip to the western USA would net you a glimpse of Halliburton Corp. It's a huge company that
can perform a service only one other company in the world can do. It employees thousands of workers
who make good money and enjoy excellent benefits. Of course many Democrats seem to think these fine,
blue collar workers should be out of work. Sort of has me scratching my head. Isn't the Democratic
party supposed to be for the working man/woman?
