now the month of capricorn begins the order, reading
from left to right. This is the traditional view, by
first looking due east then looking to the right, or
due south along the local meridian to "southing" i.e.
where the ecliptic intersects ones local meridian of
geographical longitude. Hence a chart for 12 o'clock
noon on a sundial shows the Sun at the top-center of
the chart. E.g., Nostradamus was born about noon LAT
(local angle time) 4E49:42 43N47:19 14-Dec-1503 (OS).
As a result, Nostradamus' seal showed the Sun at top-
center with its rays shining down (northwards), with
Jupiter, Saturn, & Mars along the bottom of the seal
in the twelfth house of his natal horoscope (Sun 5th,
Moon 4th, Venus 7th, Mercury 6th w/ Neptune sojourn).
The point being, that the winter solstice honors its
ruler Saturn, whose superior ensign is Capricorn. It
makes no sense to argue over the differing religious
customs between Xmas, Hanukkah etc, when the fact is
that we are all celebrating the same winter solstice
whether we realize it or not, at least that's how it
is here in the northern hemisphere, where the Egypto-
Babylonian culture flourished many many thousands of
years ago. Notably, the "Sun Pyramid" in Teotihuacan
Mexico is well north of the equator near 19N44 98W50,
so the importance of the winter solstice was clearly
intercontinental. Recall that December 21, 2012 will
be the winter solstice in the sacred tree. Even this
New Year's eve will find Saturn at southing at local
midnight LAT, at opposition to the Sun antemidheaven.
Whatever you do, don't let the orthodox religious or
secular fanatics distract you from the unequivocally
astronomical-astrological foundation of the calendar
and its traditional holidays...that about settles it.
