Help Wanted -- War Czar -- Call George At 1-800-FAI-LURE |
Dubya's lookin' for someone to take over the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan ... kind of like his job, in a way.
Apparently no one's interested -- they've asked a few retired 4 star
generals and no one was interested.
[QUOTE]
But it seems the Bush administration is having trouble convincing even
one-time supporters to take the proposed job as "war" czar. At least
three four-star generals approached by the White House spurned offers
to be considered for the new post, with one saying there's no point as
long as "hawks" like ***** Cheney, the Vice-President, still hold sway
with George W. Bush.
"The very fundamental issue is, they don't know where the hell they
are going," retired Marine General John Sheehan told The Washington
Post, which describes the three generals the White House contacted as
"administration insiders."
"There's the residue of the Cheney view -- 'We're going to win, al-
Qaeda's there' -- that justifies anything we did. And there's the
pragmatist view -- 'How the hell do we get out of Dodge and survive?'
"Unfortunately, the people with the former view are still in positions
of most influence."

You mean, nobody with a brain in his skull is interested. I'm surprised
that it's taken this long for them to figure out that this team is full
of madmen. (I mean, they did get someone just last year or so, didn't
they?)
Love the Subject, btw. :-D

The forces are over-extended and under-equipped with 'managers' who
think that everything is achieveable regardless of reality ... not
exactly a promising career move.
Cheers!

Surely there's some 'madman' true believer, determined, catterwalling
patriotic neocon faux christian warmonger somewhere on usenet whose
spinning and twisting and refusal to deal with reality would fit right
in with the Bush pattern for success in Iraq.
Maybe someone right here on APN.
