If there was any malfeasance there, it was that the feds knew about the
hijackers' plans and did nothing to stop it. Conspiracies are just too
hard to keep a lid on. A conspiracy like 9-11 would have required hundreds
of military and scientific minds working in concert, and then they would
have had to kill them all afterward to keep it all quiet.

All the arguments presented in favor of a conspiracy have been fleshed out
in numerous other documentaries I've seen. No, I haven't seen this
particular one.
What I think is more likely is that on 9-11 a group of terrorists caught the
US with its security pants down, either by design or accident, or both. Good
luck and great planning? I don't really know or care.
I think what has happened since is that right-wing politicians exploited the
9-11 trajedy as politicians often do with any traumatic event...as they did
way back during the oil embargo days of the 70s. And corporate media people
have certainly exploited it to their advantage, monetarily.
This exploitation is not a conspiracy -- it's the usual political
shenanigans, frosted with religious fanaticism and commercial greed. Yep,
there were lies told, but more to cover their management ineptness and
disguise their agenda to gain oil revenue from the Mideast.
Every question that is asked on the page you directed me to (in selling that
DVD) can be effectively countered with *evidence* to cast doubts on the
claims made.
The promo starts off saying they're presenting 'evidence' NOT theories, but
the very first feature noted uses the word 'suggests' in presenting
photographic evidence. Now, real evidence to PROVE something doesn't
SUGGEST, it nails it down as hard fact.
I don't see these 'hard facts', Wally. I see suggestions, indications,
theories, opinions...which is not to say that all of their so-called
evidence is bogus or misinterpreted conventional phenomena. I am saying that
the actual hard evidence to prove those allegations continues to elude their
claimants from nailing it down.
As I've said to shasstamunch, if you or anyone has that hard evidence, and
you say you want to *save the Republic from a police state* (or the
Illuminati, etc.), then you need to take the risk to push ahead and act on
it...affect real change in the power structure 9-11'ers claim that, at least
in part, is a conspiratorial nest of fascistic assholes planning a police
state, getting innocent folks mass murdered, etc.
IF that is the hard evidence, then these self-styled patriots need to do
what patriots long ago did, take the risk and push ahead for action against
such a developing tyranny -- NOT continue to entertain themselves,
narcissistically, gain monetarily or increase their fame, or in any way
exploit such claims or evidence for their personal gain.
If they do this for themselves, while scaring the public, and causing
distress among 9-11 families and friends, then, IMO, they're no better than
the terrorists, morally or otherwise.
Politicians have exploited the 9-11 event to their gain and media fuckers
have done the same. America has a long sordid history of the exploitation of
trajedies. A great traumatic event has been succeeded by a fanatical
right-wing administration and religious nutballs that have further
increased the paranoia and psychic suffering.
I see way too many like shasstamunch all too willing to keep that trend
going strong more for their entertainment than any heartfelt feelings about
the massive suffering caused.
There is a moral coldness in America these days. A smirking slimy lack of
interest in peoples' lives, their feelings, their privacy, etc., that smacks
of an increasingly disassociative horde of folks who apparently think life's
a melodramatic movie script they want to add some more pages to every day
for their amusement.
