I get dreams which I remember well upon waking, and it always
seems like they would make great scripts for a story or movie.

It was probably the winning Lotto numbers ;)
Actually write it down when you wake up. Next before you go to sleep
read what you wrote down. This way you will continue the same dream
expanding into episodes.
I actually did this when I was in 6th grade with friend who also did
this and most of the time we concluded that it works. It is strange,
but it somehow gets you back into the same dream following to

I used to remember almost every dream I had when I was a kid ...
My sister started writing down her dreams. Since she had written down as
much as possible ( plus drawings ) she was able to correlate events that
happened later directly to her notes. It was *very* wierd. But she's not!

You have to get into the habit of writing them down, even if you can't remember
anything other than a color or the feeling you had upon waking. The more you
work with your dreams, the better your recall will become.
