I think it's closer to the fact to say George was elected at the wrong time
( which would be almost any time ) in the worst of circumstances. Sept. 11th
would've happened anyways, most likely. His response seems to have been
based on his group of 'advisors', who happen to be a bunch of red-neck, hard
core, right wing conservatives.
I view George more like a puppet. I don't see him as possessing the
intelligence or experience to make any really long term, insightful
decisions.
Only God knows which God is giving him directions. And we can only pray to
our own God(s) that he's not re-elected and that who ever replaces him has
more depth than George.

seeing that he was able to pull off what he has. But then again, he
may have had a lot of help behind the scenes from others who have a
much higher IQ.

I think it's a very safe assumption that he was getting plenty of help behind
the scenes. The Governor of Texas doesn't have as much executive power as a lot
of other states, he failed at all his business ventures, and there were some
other, better-known national Republicans who were running at the same time.

personal and based on revenge. He was just *too* willing to jump head
first into attacking/invading -"liberating" Iraq. It's as if his mind
was already made up beforehand and nothing (no evidence, no coalition
disagreements) - *nothing* would stop him from declaring War. He was
gung-ho and ready to go no matter what. Pretty scary (and stupid.)

Getting back to polls, the ones that matter are among the voting
public. A generic Democrat is about even with Bush. And a Democrat is
seen as being able to handle the important matters as well as Bush;
