Oh yeah...!!
;))~
I hear you're playing with video editing these days doc. How long 'til
you
produce one of your own ?
Yeah, I am. First time I've had a motion picture camera in my hands in
over 30 years~! I don't know how long it will take to get my stuff on
videocast vendors, such as You Tube. It mostly depends on how long the
'learning curve' experience will last. Since mini-dv tape and software
editing is a big change from 8mm film, a tape splicer, and projector, it's
proving to be quite a shock. This is all bottom-line budgeted, so there
are significant limitations.
Doc
I just got a new 24" flat panel hd (landscape size) display monitor. I
can actually see the icons again (I've got a whole new lease on
reality).
1920 x 1200 never looked so good.

Online videos appear to be the new rage.. the new gold rush. I saw a mini-
documentary about this internet entrepreneur millionaire living on the
island of cyprus (doing business from there) who pays young kids
(relatively) large sums of money (in the $10,000 range) to do really
dangerous stunts and get them recorded on video. The kids don't seem to
mind because the dollar amounts are large relative to the time spent on it,
and this entrepreneur undoubtedly makes many, many times the money he pays
to these kids, but many people are highly critical of this guy for using
youngsters in this way.. they are doing ALL the dangerous work and he
doesn't risk anything.
Creative video using software seems a bit more ethical.

YES, it is! It's actually hotter than a barfly ***** on a Saturday night.
The creative opportunities are numerous, limited by copyright violations,
money, time, imagination, and the level of experimentation. I notice this
new project is eating up huge amounts of time. I am still working on a
'portable studio', complete with a changeable backdrop, and variable
lighting effects. I haven't had any project burn up this much time in many
years nor, if I'm not careful, suck money outta' me so swiftly.
In any case, it appears I'm badly hooked on it. I love perusing the
videocast sites and checking out what other videographers have done. This

Yep, there is quick money to made on this trend if one wants to push the
legal and/or ethical parameters beyond the normal into higher risk. My
project is not about this pursuit, however. I don't care about making
money at all. All my life, I've focused first on doing creative things I
love, and letting the chips fall where they may. If any profit is there,
it's more by accident for me.
