Nonsense.
USA developed nuclear weapons so of course the Soviet Union did as
well. Israel has nuclear weapons, so of course Iran will as well. In
fact there already is a Muslim bomb in Pakistan, and Pakistan is far
more unstable than Iran. The government of Pakistan could be
overthrown by extremist elements within the army at any time. Then
there would be a problem, as the extremist elements in Pakistan are far
more radical than the current Iranian regime.

Assuming that there is no choice but to have some
kind of violence against Iran in order to preclude their having nuclear
weapons, which I don't think is an accurate assumption (but for the sake
of argument, let's assume that) .... I really think Israel would be much
better off to clandestinely plant much mistrust between the Persians and
Arabs, and have the Arab Muslims take 'em out. Exploiting an existing
mistrust would (1)leave Israel out of the crosshairs (assuming nobody
finds out they were instigating trouble and (2)keep the Muslim countries
in the Middle East focused on someone other than them.
Of course, as I've said, I don't think it necessarily needs to come to
violence. (Not yet, anyway ... can't say when we'll pass the point of no
return on that).

That's right, there is no point. Since it has always been understood
that given two nuclear powers, if one nukes the other, then there will
be a nuke response. Nothing new. Iran with nukes would be an
insurance policy against Israeli aggression, and merely evens the
playing field.
