IX.76
Avec le noir Rapax & sanguinaire
Yssue du peaultre de l'inhumain Neron
Emmy deux fleuves main gauche militaire,
Sera murtry par joyne chaulveron.
Line 4 - "Jean Chauvin [John Calvin]"
Verse translation
With the dark one, the ravenous & bloody
Issued from Nero's ilk and beastly skin
Between two rivers, on the host's left hand side,
He shall be murdered by that Jean Chauvin.
The execution and murder of the dark and Moorish looking Michael
Servetus, by the Protestant leader John Calvin (birth name Jean
Chauvin), because of his anti-Trinitarianism and anti-paedobaptism
views, on a cold and rainy October day in 1553 on the Plateau de
Champel, located on the south side of the city of Geneva at the
confluence of two rivers - the Arve and the Rhone. Escorting Michael
Servetus on the short journey to his place of execution, was the a
crowd of pastors exhorting him to confess his sins, a wave of officers
on horseback and a guard of mounted archers, followed by the citizens
of the city. Evidently disgusted with the way the execution was staged,
Nostradamus compares the citizens of Geneva with the citizens of
ancient Rome, who went to watch the Christians being put to death in
the most horrific manner for their own amusement.

Again it is how one reads the Quatrains and applies them to the
context.
We know for instance that Nero, being gone from the scene for some 1900
odd years is not the character but a character with said characters
attributes (Persecutor of Christians) any how let us see the
"immutables" on their take:
C IX- Q76 Auec le noir Rapax & sanguinaire,
Yssu du peaultre de l'inhumain Neron
Emmy deux fleuues main gauche militaire,
Sera murtry par Ioyne chaulueron.
With the black one, [the] rapacious and bloodthirsty one, Bed-product
of the inhuman Nero---
Between two rivers--- the left wing of the army-- [He] shall be slain
by John Calvin.
Line 2. 'yssu du peaultre' might also mean 'issue of pewter coinage,'
though the context seems to forbid it. Line 3. Avignon? Lyons? Line 4.
'Ioyne, Jeaune, Jaume' all represent Provencal forms of the name Jean.
Calvin's family name was Chauvin, which Nostradamus has extended to
rhyme with Neron.
Trivial on the whole, but interesting for the direct reference to
Calvin.
C9Q76. With the rapacious and blood-thirsty king 1, Issued from the
pallet of the inhuman Nero: Between two rivers military hand left, He
will be murdered by Young Baldy 2.
1 bloodthirsty king = or black one
2 murdered by baldy = or baldy will be murdered by a young man
LXXVI. Avec le noir 1 Rapax 2 et sanguinaire, Yssu du peaultre 3 de
l'inhumain Neron, Emmy 4 deux fleuves main gauche militaire, Sera
meurtry par Ioyne chaulveron 5.
1 noir = anagram for king
2 Rapax = Latin rapax rapacious
3 peaultre = OF: peaultre pallet brothel
4 Emmy = OF: emmi between
5 chaulveron = diminutive of chauve bald
CIXQ 76. Another reference to the "new Nero." If line 2 is to be taken
literally, this quatrain involves his offspring. As practically any
city in Europe is between two rivers, the locale is none too specific.
However, Avignon and the Venaissin enclave seem to be intended
elsewhere by Mesopotamia, which means "between rivers." Larmor (1925,
p. 148) applies it to Henry III. Nero is his great-grandfather, Picro
II of Florence, ally of Caesar Borgia and enemy of Pope Sixtus IV.
