No. We were having fires like this back in the 1970s when the leftists

From July 11, 2003

FBI: al-Qaeda detainee spoke of fire plot
PHOENIX (AP) - The FBI alerted law enforcement agencies last month
that an al-Qaeda terrorist now in detention had talked of
masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires
around the western United States.
Rose Davis, a spokeswoman for the National Interagency Fire Center in
Boise, told The Associated Press that officials there took note of the
warning but didn't see a need to act further on it.
The contents of the June 25 memo from the FBI's Denver office were
reported Friday by The Arizona Republic. Davis declined to share a
copy of the memo and an FBI spokeswoman in Denver didn't immediately
return a telephone call.
The Republic reported that the detainee, who was not identified, said
the plan involved three or four people setting wildfires using timed
devices in Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming that would detonate in
forests and grasslands after the operatives had left the country.
The memo noted that investigators couldn't determine whether the
detainee was telling the truth.
The newspaper said many forest law enforcement officers it contacted
had no idea the warning had been issued.

When you see a story about a chemical plant that went up in a blaze, or
a tanker truck exploding on a highway and snarling traffic and commerce
for one or more days, one does have to wonder about the circumstances
surrounding it. The 'authorities' usually stop short of announcing there
are terrorists surreptitiously living and operating among us.
If Bush and the bumble-butt crew were any more inept at this terrorist
fighting thing, he might as well have just handed the reins of US gov't
over to Usama Bin Hidin' .. but hey, who needs to find the bad guys here
at home when we can just send the military to terrorize muslim civilians
half way around the globe ?

Well John, as U well know, we Aussies have been experiencing bushfires
(what U guys refer to as either brushfires or wildfires - same thing)
for nigh on 200 years -- & the aboriginals (indiginous peoplez) used
bushfires to their advantage for at least 40,000 years prior to that !
We've all got to get back to understanding the essentials of the
beauty of what 'Mother Nature' can do (both creative & destructive) &
move away from the greedy, self-centered, materialistic, technology-
bound, Zionist influenced society that has parasited this beautiful
planet (at least in Western so-called "civilization") for the past 100
years.
Perhaps a much more egalitarian, altruistic, socially responsible &
philanthropic society iz what iz urgently needed on this planet before
we go too far & destroy one another in the not-too-distant World War
III ?!?
A **BIG** change iz needed & no doubt very **BIG** changes are coming
soon.
Either we adapt pretty frickin' soon to nature or nature will cleanse
a large chunk of the human population off this earth pretty frickin'
soon.

Gotta ask tho. Did you catch the article below from USA Today from

fire plot in the USA?

Leigh Ballaam thusly scribed the following highly entertaining &
informative diatribe:
On Oct 25, 7:47 am, "leigh8...@optusnet.com.au" > Bit of a Dorothy
Dixer there Wally!
LB
Who the FRICK was Dorothy Dix ?!?!
Thank GOd for the kind peoplez at WIkipedia !
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Dix
"DOROTHY DIXER" explained for all of my favorite peoplez ! :
Dorothy Dix's name has given rise to a widely-used term in Australia,
where a "Dorothy Dixer" is an obvious or easily-answered question. It
comes from Dix's reputed practice of making up her own questions for
advice columns to allow her to publish more interesting answers.
"Dorothy Dixer" has been used in Australian politics since the 1950s
and has become increasingly common in everyday usage. However its
Australian origin is unclear; the term is virtually unknown in other
countries where Dix's column was equally popular.
The term is most commonly used in a derogatory sense in politics, to
describe a 'planted' question asked of a minister by a backbencher
from their own party. Often the question has been written by the
minister or their staff rather than by the questioner, and is used to
give the minister a chance to promote themselves or the work of the
government, or to criticise the opposition party's policies, to raise
the profile of the backbench member asking the question, or to consume
the time available for questioning and thereby avoid tougher
questions. It is a common and widely-accepted tactic used during
question time in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
In his book An Introduction to Australian Politics Dean Jaensch
observed on page 229:
"A growing number of questions are of the 'Dorothy-Dix' type (from the
government backbench) and attempts to win political points (from both
sides of the house)."
Similarly, Don Aitken and Brian Jinks observe in their book Australian
Political Institutions on page 67:
"It is common practice for a minister to have a government backbencher
ask a pre-arranged question which can be answered in such a way as to
praise the government or exploit a weakness in the Opposition. Such
'Dorothy Dix' questions (after the syndicated 'advice' column which
once appeared in popular magazines), are in effect occasions for
ministers' speeches, rather than for parliamentary criticism of the
executive."
