It is common knowledge that the Julian dating system (not to be
confused with the Julian Calendar invented by Julius Caesar) was
invented by Jules C=E9sar Scaliger, a one-time friend and later foe
of Nostradamus himself; and this is common knowledge because
Scaliger's son, Joseph Juste, said so. Why? Because he found this
clever invention among the papers left by his father at his
death, papers which the father had never published. Why? Because
Nostradamus *is* the inventor of the Julian Period. Nobody knows
that, except of course the readers of this NewsGroup! ;-)

How do we know that Nostradamus invented it? Because he uses it.
And he used it *before* Scaliger's son published it... *after*
Nostradamus' death.

This system assigns a specific number to every single day in
history; for example, August 7, 2017, at Noon UT, has the JD#
245 7973.
*
It is generally accepted that the last four digits of the JD# can
be used for short periods (as there are 10,000 days in each group
with unique, non-repeating, numbers). So, let's say that the JD#
for August 7, 2017, is 7973. So far so good.
*
What happens on August 7/8, 2017? An eclipse of the Moon.
(Depending on where one is located on this Earth, the eclipse can
be seen on the evening of the 7th or the early hours of the 8th.)

Which brings us to Nostradamus.
*
He is a Seer/Prophet. He sees future events. He needs to date
them. He knows that the calendar will change. He know that this
change will not happen everywhere at the same time. He knows that
the calendar will change more than once in France. To remedy this
confusion, he invents a perfect system for dating events (a
system so smart that astronomers use it today for counting days).
*
This system (the Julian Period) starts long before the beginning
of historical times and lasts for 7980 years. So, no chance of
running out of numbers in the near future.

As Nostradamus could not give the date of the end of his prophecy
in a clear manner (for fear of being branded a heretic), he chose
to hide it under his Julian dating period. So, let's look at a
few dates of the Summer 2017:

the 7000 series and... Nostradamus' prophecy is over!

How do we know that? Nostradamus tells us. Where? In quatrain

Only line 1 allows us to date this meaningful gobbledygook: when
the great number seven has elapsed. What is the great number
seven? 7000. When does it elapse? When it reaches 8000. When does
this happen? September 3, 2017. That's when Nostradamus' prophecy
ends.

Is this not a bit too far-fetched? Are there other clues pointing
to Nostradamus' use of the Julian Period in his texts? Yes, there
are, but to find them, one needs to be... intelligent.

In the so-called Letter to Caesar (his Preface to theProphecies), Nostrad=

Here, he appears to indicate the end of his prophecy. Most of
those who have read this text have not *looked* at it; they have
just *read* it.

If you look at it very carefully, you realize that the good 16th
century French word "icy" is spelled backwards. It should read
"icy" but it reads "yci". Nowadays, it is spelled "ici" and
cannot be reversed.

Why is this significant? Because the "3 7 9 7" which follows can
be reversed in the same manner and can thus read: "7 9 7 3".
*
Which brings us back to August 7, 2017.
*
So, on August 7, 2017, there is a Full Moon, and it is eclipsed.
What happens to the Moon when it is eclipsed? It turns into many
shades of brown, orange, rust, depending upon many variables.
Does Nostradamus speak of the colour of the Moon during an
eclipse? Yes, he does. Where? In quatrain I-84:

Both lines 1 and 2 refer to an eclipse of the Moon and to its
colour when eclipsed. How do we know that it refers to the Lunar
eclipse of August 2017? We don't, unless we read about this 3797,
a.k.a. 7973.

But an eclipse of the Moon is a rather frequent event, easy to
observe, isn't it? Why would Nostradamus have drawn his readers'
attention to an event much less spectacular than can be an
eclipse of the Sun? Answer: Because this eclipse of the Moon
happens less than a week before the destruction of Paris. And
THAT is the most spectacular event in history!

Well, if there is an eclipse of the Moon nearby, then there must
also be an eclipse of the Sun not very far away. Does Nostradamus
link the end of his prophecy to an eclipse of the Sun? Yes, he
does. Where? In quatrain I-48:

Here, the last two lines point to an eclipse of the Sun and to
the end of his prophecy. When does that eclipse happen? In August
2017; August 21, to be precise.

In total, we have no less than three chronological clues pointing
to the end of his prophecy: (1) the Julian Day Numbers going from
the 7000 series to the 8000 series, on September 3, 2017; (2) the
last four digits of the Julian Day Number for August, 7, 2017,
i.e., 7973; and (3) the August 21, 2017, eclipse of the Sun
marking the end of his prophecy. All three markers happening
within a month of each other.

And why does Nostradamus' prophecy end in the Summer of 2017?
Because on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 3:53 a.m., Paris is nuked
by the US military who intend to nuke Peking in retaliation for
the slaughter on Tienanmen Square of the entire male diplomatic
staff of the US embassy in Peking by Communist revolutionaries,
an event which led Nostradamus to publish no less than thirty
books, all enciphered in the very same manner, describing the
circumstances leading to the worst mistake in human history, the
unintended death of 3,000,000 people living in, and visiting,
Paris, on a beautiful weekend of August 2017.

How many days are left before this happens? Well, using
Nostradamus' own invention, the Julian Period, we can easily
count the days from today (JD# 245 4290) to August 13, 2017 (JD#
245 7979): 3,689 days exactly.
