On this day in 1973 the American financed and armed General Pinochet
conducted his coup in Chile which resulted in the elected government of
that country being overthrown and the leader Salvadore Allende being
killed. The American financed and armed Pinochet went on to rule the
country in total terror during which approx. 3000 people were either
killed or went missing. The most brutal dictator South America has ever
seen.
Remember it? It was the eleventh of September 1973!
