Object: Mabus - The reality
II.62. Original 1555 text
Mabus puis tost alors mourra, viendra
De gens & bestes une horrible defaite :
Puis tout =E0 coup la vengence on verra
Cent, main, soif, faim, quand courra la comete.
Line 4 - Wordplay: Cent main/Sang humain
Translation in English Verse
When Mabus shortly dies, there shall ensue
By man and beast a most horrible rout:
Then suddenly shall vengeance heave in view.
Hundred thirst for blood, when comet about.
Source: Events of 1532, which included the death of the famous Flemish=20
painter, Jan *Mabus[e]* on October 1, 1532, which marked the=20
appearance of a strikingly bright comet (Comet C/1532 R1). This=20
comet's claim to fame is that it was the brilliant daytime comet seen=20
by the Aztecs and Incas just as the Spaniards arrived in Peru. In=20
fact, it was on 15 November, 1532 that Francisco Pizarro with a small=20
force of 106 infantry and 62 cavalry - in order to avenge the throwing=20
to the ground of the Christian Bible by the Inca Emperor - succeeded=20
in beginning the final violent destruction of this great empire of=20
some eight million people, with what is known today as the massacre of=20
Cajamarca, as would duly be recorded by Bartolom=E9 de Las Casas in his=20
'Brev=EDsima relaci=F3n de la destrucci=F3n de las Indias', which first=20
appeared in published form in 1552, prior to the publication of the=20
Propheties.

We note you fail to mention the rout of beasts?
Still nothing you have not put up before, and no new insight, we might=20
also ask the Death of painter mabuse what significance was that then?
hardly a household name.

Still nothing you have not put up before, and no new insight,

Wrong! - A hundred troops for "cent main"

we might
also ask the Death of painter mabuse what significance was that then?
hardly a household name.

Mabuse may not be considered significant in the world we live in=20
today, but to Nostradmus he was a famous painter who died during his=20
lifetime.

On 29 Jan 2007 13:57:54 -0800, still thinking that his lack of
knowledge of the French language allows him to pontificate about
Nostradamus' texts, Gary Somai, a.k.a. The Master, a.k.a.
"Merlin" <merlin2rhyme@yahoo.co.uk>, was discussing quatrain
II-62:
*
--------------- C E N T V R I E___S E C O N D E. -------------
----------------------- (édition de 1555) --------------------
*
---- 62 - Mabus puis tost alors mourra,viendra ---------------
--------- De gens & bestes vne horrible defaite: -------------
--------- Puis tout à coup la vengence on verra --------------
--------- Cent,main,soif,faim,quand courra la comete. --------
*
By the Aussie Troll:
*

We note you fail to mention the rout of beasts?

*
By the British Troll:
*

On the contrary, if you read the text, it says that the rout was
*by* man and beast.

*
Wrooong! An inversion, common to French poetry, allows
Nostradamus to write:
*
---- 62 - Mabus puis tost alors mourra,viendra ---------------
--------- De gens & bestes vne horrible defaite: -------------
*
Which, written in straight prose, would read:
*
"... viendra vne horrible defaite de gens & bestes:"
*
Which could be understood as: 'shall happen a horrible defeat of
men and beasts.'
*
Which, once the decyphered prophecy is discovered, makes perfect
sense: A thermonuclear weapon does not distinguish between men
and beasts.
*
A thermonuclear weapon carried by an intercontinental ballistic
missile which, in the sky, looks like... a running comet (line 4).
*

Mabuse may not be considered significant in the world we live in
today, but to Nostradmus he was a famous painter who died during his
lifetime.

Merlin

*
So what?! Do you really think that this dead painter, Mabuse,
holds a monopoly over the use of the name 'Mabus'? Have you
looked at phone books, lately? You might find a few Mabus, if you
look carefully.
*
Have a nice day, folks!
